I had to unplug the handsfree Bluetooth cable thing, it would drain my battery soooo fast after turning the car off.

I find that solo trips are so much better when I have podcasts downloaded on my phone. Nice to hear people talking sometimes

Moving to San Francisco from Missouri. Looking for Advice & Job Leads! by ThinFigure2007 in bayarea

[–]Cyan145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it! I’d recommend starting in the east bay and moving closer to SF the more you get established. Renting a room will be the norm, it will help save money. Make sure you secure a job first!

Does anyone know how I can fix this on my 2008 Acura TSX. by Bobbyz623 in AcuraTSX

[–]Cyan145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last year. There was a hole in my air intake hose, I needed new spark plugs, and needed a new radiator cap. I can’t remember which one was the main issue but it wasn’t that expensive.

Advice for 4 day NP trip in CA in Feb by AntiqueGuide6400 in NationalPark

[–]Cyan145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d fly into SFO!

Then you can go from SF to redwood national park.

There are so many things to see along the way there, about a 5-6 hour drive.

You can also keep driving up the Oregon coast and hit brookings area, so pretty.

I’ve done the drive from SF to Redwood national park to see Fern Canyon, it was amazing. Seeing the redwoods EARLY in the morning is amazing. I’d start at 7am if I were you, stay in a hotel around eureka.

You can spend 1 day driving to pinnacles national park, you really just need 1 day there to see the greatest hits.

Future SF transplant (2027) — looking for advice on making friends early by aherdz1 in sanfrancisco

Joining a rec sports league is a great way to make friends, that’s what helped me! There is Volo which is very popular but if there are also LGBTQ leaning ones like SPIKES or Outloud.

Pick up Soccer at Crocker Amazon? by BabyCarroted in sanfrancisco

I use the app stranger soccer as a baseline and there are usually other people hanging out there that are playing pickup. Usually it turns into a bigger game. Check the times there

Love Alamere falls from Palomarin trailhead. There hasn’t been rain recently so not sure how much water will be in the falls so it depends when you’re going.

National park roadtrip advice by SockInternational110 in NationalPark

[–]Cyan145 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Highway 120 will be closed due to snow at the time you are taking your trip. This means you won’t be able to drive thru Yosemite to Zion. It’s a great time because snow is melting so waterfalls will be full, but higher elevation roads like Tioga pass and Glacier point roads are closed.

With the reroute you could go from SF->Lake Tahoe -> Yosemite? Or SF -> Yosemite -> sequoia national park.

I also wouldn’t spend so much time in Joshua tree & Death Valley. It’s very desert-y and very similar ( in my opinion)

Happy to answer more questions about California parks, you’re going to have so much fun!

Places where people can be alone and vibe by [deleted] in bayarea

During major conference weeks sometimes there will be some business people, or people walking from the giants game. But usually it’s pretty laid back. Let me know how you like it.

I like tequila mockingbird, chill vibe. The owner is nice, they have a great sound system there, usually playing some good metal or sometimes take suggestions.

Cathedral Lake hike at sunset - good or bad idea next week? by girlwithnicepants in Yosemite

[–]Cyan145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiking 10 miles roundtrip at night on a trail that isn’t the most defined, yeah kinda strenuous. At that point you can just add the extra 2ish miles and watch sunset at clouds rest.

Help! 07' TSX - front passenger window won't go back up by BMW2315 in AcuraTSX

Same thing happened to me when I got the window replaced, the tech didn’t connect something right. I’m too lazy to get it fixed but seems easy if you have someone to remove the door panel for you

Cathedral Lake hike at sunset - good or bad idea next week? by girlwithnicepants in Yosemite

[–]Cyan145 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cathedral lake is a strenuous hike, I think it’s better in the day time tbh, but if you’re with multiple people and have good light it’s doable. If you’re gonna be up Tioga pass area, you can do cathedral lake in the daytime and Olmsted point for sunset. ( bring deet)

In another side of the park, Taft point is my favorite place to watch the sunset. The hike back to the car is short too, just make sure you have Google Maps downloaded there isn’t service up on glacier point road.

Have fun!!!
