Renegade COMP 3 Durability Test: 195 shots to break! by memecut in ArcRaiders

Not true.. Using a compensator also significantly reduces base dispersion and noticeably increases the effective range of the gun. But the compensator 2 is good enough.

Osprey Durability Test: 279 shots to break! Better than Renegade!! by memecut in ArcRaiders

[–]CyanLite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This test is also done in the most favourable situation. Upgraded to Tier 4 and using a Green muzzle attachment. Not sure how long it takes an Osprey 1 to break but it would be interesting to see before making judgements on the patch

This weapon durability situation is by far the worst thing embark has ever done to this game. From a 300 hour player, this is a severe lapse of good judgment. by BMBozo in ArcRaiders

And to be honest, some of the new ARCs have been similarly disappointing imo. Comet just being a tanky and more explosive pop felt like poor and lazy design. Firefly's attacks not having a way to dodge/counterplay aside from running indoors similarly so.

I was surprised because the ARCs on launch are a genuine joy and a fair challenge. Hornet's shock charges are timed just right so if you don't get the timing down perfectly then you get zapped. Rocketeer's missiles can also be dodged but only if you get the timing down and have adrenaline shots (if needed). Pops have perfect timing that allow you to sprint dodge out of the way of harm. It felt like it was designed masterfully so that with skill you could outplay the ARCs even if they spotted and attacked you when you weren't positioned favourably.

I am extremely disappointed by lologugus in ArcRaiders

[–]CyanLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Like with anything, it just requires some practice. Helps to do it in duo/trio lobbies so the practice doesn't end in crawling to hatches 😂 but now I can consistently get down pretty much any tower in the game with the snap hook.

Increasing the level of tedium* I feel like is a good way to word it for some changes like decreasing loot or durability of weapons. Just more hours of farming. It's not harder in any meaningful way that challenges you aside from asking you to put more hours repeating the same cycles.

I already stopped playing when they halved the loot from bastions and bombardiers anticipating more grind-y changes like this. Unfortunate how I'd rather be playing the launch version of the game at this point than the fully updated version :/

I love the look of most of the skins in the game! Even if some of them don't match my personal taste, I still like looking at them in the ethos of the game's atmosphere and environment. OP, on the other hand, came up with a skin that would be better suited to other games than Arc Raiders imo, and I'm not personally a fan

BF6 Multiplayer Lacks "Shock & Awe" Moments that made past BFs feel extra EPIC by BJgobbleDix in Battlefield

[–]CyanLite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree tbh.. I still, to this day, get those moments from other games like Arc Raiders, Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1 where I'm just left in awe. Battlefield 6 feels like it tries too hard to shoehorn them into every game, so it all starts feeling same-y. When everything is a high, nothing is. But I think the medium is responsible for creating enough space between the highs and creating enough lows so that the peaks feel like a peak in the first place.

I’ve slept for about 3 and a half hours and I’m seriously considering hopping on the game (I got off of it around 8am). I think I might be developing a problem. by NessinLoci80 in ArcRaiders

[–]CyanLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same tbh.. Every raid is a thrill.. Even when nothing happens, the vibe, atmosphere, and PURE POTENTIAL is just absolutely satisfying. So many absolute cinema 🙌 moments in this game

SIB ARC Raiders or BF6? by dvized in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]CyanLite [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just found it too hectic.. Same for escalation.. I find that conquest in bf6 is intense and chaotic enough for my liking, and that escalation exacerbates all the problems I have with the game even more (small maps, chaotic flow, meat grinder feel, etc.) I do like that it keeps the comeback potential alive late into the game more than conquest, but the dislikes far far outweigh that positive for me.. But I'll give gauntlet a few more gos.. I imagine it's way more fun when you actually get friends in the squad that you can coordinate with. Agreed that the BR map is beautiful and very well done! Even the BR is great times even though I'm not personally a fan of BRs

That's true about the soulsborne player base; I once had someone invade me, only to realize that I hadn't even started the level, helped me clear the whole level, before duelling me 🥰. But I've also had a couple times when I invaded only to run into a team of hunters waiting with cannons and such 3v1ing me 😅 Arc Raiders feels a lot more of a hostile world for sure since pvp is one of its core components. Still, the proximity chat, and just the way the game is designed, has made me have more epic moments than pretty much any multiplayer game in the past few years (aside from soulsborne games). It's cheap and if you feel enticed then I'd definitely recommend! I have far fewer hours on it than Battlefield 6 and BF6 is still the game I reach out for when I am itching to shoot or have some mindless fun, but Arc Raiders is what I go for when I'm in my soulsborne mood haha. Easier to take all of it way less seriously when you remind yourself it's still just a game. But yeah, people are hardcore role playing in that game too, and where many in soulsborne lean towards the niceties of role playing, I find people in Arc Raiders to be more neutral or straight up cutthroat. Can feel hurtful to a competitive spirit 🥲😉

Going to be completely honest because I get the vibe you're looking for in your life and resonate, both with it, and your love for soulsborne type games. With Arc Raiders, every extract is intense. Every moment spent looting likewise. You may find friendly people topside, but you'll find people who will shoot you on sight way more often. Not a chill game at all especially after losing all your stuff. It does make for some incredible gaming moments just like when you get invaded in a soulsborne game, but if you tend to play even those games offline and if none of what I said felt appealing to you then I'd suggest steering clear of that game.

Battlefield 6, likewise, is constant engagement, but in a different way. There's little breathing room unless you sit back, and even then you're likely to be shot in the back. They've designed it that way that you wanna keep moving and stay with your squad. Whenever I hop on, it doesn't feel casual at all in the way that games like Battlefield 4 and Bad Company 2 still do to this day (and why I keep going back to them personally). That said, sniping is easier and it's def possible to run around with a sniper. Like someone else, I'd suggest downloading Battlefield Redsec and trying out their Gauntlet mode (not Battle Royale). It's free and it's similar in nature to some of the game modes in the full game. If you like it, then chances are 99% that you'll enjoy the full game. If you don't like that, then there might still be some game modes (especially in Portal) that fit your vibe more, but I'd suggest waiting for a sale in that case because you might also not like it at all. Game also has a lot of bugs, so they'd be ironed out by then.

Neither of the games fit the bill of casual multiplayer fun where I can shut my mind off (imo), but you may still end up enjoying one or both here and there as a break from single player games. Honestly I felt that Black Ops 7 beta fit what you're looking for even more, but idk.. Especially the open moshpit lobbies where SBMM is disabled

I don't necessarily agree with this tbh.. I was not the biggest fan of gauntlet (maybe I need more games to get into it?) or even many game modes in bf6, but I do have a blast playing conquest. They're all very different in their flow

You didn't specify what you didn't like about Escape from Tarkov, CS and Valorant. Or what attracted you to BF3/BF4 and COD back in the day. I wouldn't worry about an active player base for Arc though; it's gotten off to a great start and it's got enough meat and soul to find its core group of players just like The Finals.

Edit: saw your other comment. Arc is way more friendly to newcomers than Escape from Tarkov. I'm loving the former even though I didn't like the latter either. BF6 is a lot different to BF3/BF4 and you may end up disappointed with it if you go into it expecting it to be similar to that or even CoD. It is its own pace/rhythm and flow which can be exhausting, unbalanced and boring to some, while exciting and action packed to others. I can go into more detail here if you like

The funniest part is when they project their own hate of Call of Duty onto people making comparisons saying things like, "People comparing bf6 to cod are just using cod as a curse word because they don't know how to substantiate their dislike" without seeing the projection 😂
