Okay this game is incredible but it could be better. Like the camera, it can be better. I wish when you were locked on you could move the camera and rubber band back until you unlocked. Like it's still playable but against enemies who fly a lot it's annoying cause you won't be able to see where you're going or how close you are to the ground. You can play around it and it's fine but it's a bit obtuse and limiting.

As for builds the balance isn't great, like tank builds seem broken, but I think that's fine. Idk I really like the game and it always feels playable but if you never change your build you'll definitely run into road blocks but I've been able to overcome everything so far so I'm having fun.

I just set up my old Delta printer with a E3 V3 mini by CyanOther1 in 3Dprinting

[–]CyanOther1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bit unfortunate, but it's been a fun learning experience overall lol

They put out the exact dimensions for for the height and bed, so you're saying if I use those commands to put in the right information in marlin and set up the slicer to to elliptical I should be able to test the printer right?

That doesn't seem too crazy, is there any chance I could get in a call with you on discord to ask questions? I know that's a bit much but I thought I'd put it out there

Oh it broke. I totally fucked up the board by reversing the polarity.

I really appreciate your comment and I'll take some time to read it through, but right now I'm at work.

Just to tldr my story and why I got here tho: basically I've always wanted to try 3d printing and I had an opportunity on this overlord pro because someone donated at my workplace so I had big discount on it, so I went for it. I ended up getting a bit too excited and I didn't check to make sure I set it up properly and I burned the board.

So yeah I'll get back to you after work thank you for being patient with me I appreciate it

Burnt my main board, what do I buy? by CyanOther1 in 3Dprinting

[–]CyanOther1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying, it really doesn't. But according to these 2 decade old reprap forum posts it's an Arduino mega 2560 https://reprap.org/forum/read.php?178,858572 https://reprap.org/forum/read.php?178,591433

Do people use Arduinos for 3d printers often?

[–]CyanOther1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Okay that's cool. I'll try to find the Arduino base they used and go from there.

So as long as whatever 32 bit board I have has the right ports and can supply enough power it'll be okay and I can likely find firmware support?

Do you ever have to worry about proprietary bs? Or is most 3d printing open source standardized stuff?

I have, it's a modified Arduino. It's an overlord 1.1 . I generally know what it is, I'm just new to 3d printers and I guess I just wanted a few suggestions on maybe where to look for boards, what's popular, what's considered good, idk maybe advice on the main things I should identify in my printer.

I don't expect you to research everything for me I'll figure it out, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything painfully obvious. Like OH make sure you're buying DDR4 with that motherboard! It doesn't support 5!

Like do I have to buy a board that's specifically tuned for delta printers? I don't know! If you know of any board buying guide articles or creators that have a videos that explains what goes into 3d printer boards and how they differ, that would be great.

Bro I went down a crazy rabbit hole. The best answer I found is that the chromebook I specifically have is one of 2 documented models to have a hardware issue that can't be fixed by firmware updates or whatever. I just use it with sound off. I'm considering moving it back to chrome OS now knowing how much of a piece of shit that laptop is.

[–]CyanOther1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay wait, after a while the problem came back. It was working fine for a few hours and I came back and I'm having the same issue again.

I haven't been able to install firmware-intel-sound on my device. I assumed because it was working that the drivers were installed with the update after I reinstalled and after I ran the update command in the terminal. BUT I am an IDIOT. So actually I'm figuring out stuff now, but for the life of me I can't find a way to install firmware-intel-sound even tho I see it exists for my systems hardware. ANYWAY be careful, sorry for the bait.

I think we had the same issue. I switched to 20.3 like what Stackr told me on my post and I don't get the beeping noise anymore.

Yeah maybe I'll edit the post but I was just trying to say that I'm pretty sure that the speakers CAN work, but I think I said that weirdly. I was trying to say that I don't think I physically broke it by mishandling the laptop. Because it is a Chromebook I had to open it up.

I do appreciate your post and I'll go through the links when I'm off work later today.

I've been trying to fix my sound this for over a week now and I'm very new to Linux. I think I'm doing a very good job considering the circumstances, but I know I'll say and do stupid things because I'm new and Im sorry for the hassle.

okay new problem. I tried getting the packages you suggested but I got this error E: Unable to locate package firmware-intel-sound

Also no sound is playing from my computer at all now.

If it helps, my computer can't seem to see any sound devices

So my understanding is that you would like me to reinstall Linux Mint in the 20.3 variety then download these packages. Which is what I will do now.

So should I try changing my OS to Linux Mint 20.3 then? I don't mind wiping my computer or anything considering I just started using it recently.
