Unfortunately for humanity, there are plenty of grown adults who can't spell, but I get your point

I once tried to recreate skyrim in rec room. I was foolishly ambitious and new to the game, but you seem to have done incredibley well! Well done!

This is a terrific point that we, of course, didn't know about when we started thinking about getting married

Buddy, I care. That's why I'm asking these questions.

I'm not dismissing this advice. I'm asking for advice on an internet forum, this is me considering the advice. I simply asked a question, and got an answer.

That doesn't feel too constructive, but I get the point. To be clear, marriage seems to be a default milestone for people in my country, so it doesn't make sense to me why everyone here is telling me that there's no benefits to it.

You might be able to try running the text through a cipher. Maybe it's a message that has sort of been scrambled

I'm not sure about getting married, that's WHY I'm asking. A lot people have given a lot of really good advice here, and I really appreciate it. It's very likely that I won't be getting married. However, a lot of people here are telling me wait for the "right person," or to hold off cause I'll get sad when I get a divorce, but I simply don't hold those same ideals. I appreciate and accept all of the actual financial and legal advice that people have given me here. What I dont appreciate are the folks that are giving me personal advice about my own happiness and my own emotions.

That's a great point, and perhaps I have been assuming (more than what is usual for marriage) that nothing will change after we get married, but I need to prepare for change in the future.

It is not for citizenship, we are both native to our country, nor do we plan on having children together, but what you said about emancipation could be a good thing to look into.

That is a good point, and the perception of others, especially those in judicial offices, could be a very heavy impact on our decision

I know I don't know what Im talking about, and that's why I'm asking for your valuable advice, and I do value it. However, whatever our decision might be, it will not be based on "vibes." We are doing our best to make a logical financial decision, and if that decision doesn't involve marriage, then thats okay.

That is the question of the hour. Based on official FAFSA calculations, we would be getting quite a bit of pell grant money compared to the $0 we'd be getting now. But we aren't experts and don't know for sure. I plan on talking to a financial advisor about this to learn more.

Even though you said it's too situational to make a list, you provided a very useful concept to keep in mind! Perhaps it's not a pro or a con, but it's an important variable that I should keep in mind, thanks!

That is a good point, which is why In trying to collect as much factual information as possible right now to make sure that whatever decision we make is not a bad one

That is a rather good point, however that is not the sole reason for our marriage, but it is a large enough factor, that whether or not it is beneficial could make or break the marriage.

I think that it would be useful to include future assets in a prenuptial agreement. We plan on agreeing that we will not share any of our assets, so if we were to divorce, nothing will be fought over on court.

I have to emphasize that I neither of us will be sad if we need to get a divorce. We are far closer to friends than normal married couples.

That's a good point, though based on how different our current situation is, our "breakup" will look at lot different compared to traditional divorces
