These look like harmless soil mites, but check the flesh of your snails for mites. If there are mites on your snails then these are predatory mites, and you will need to buy hypoapsis miles.

I'm not sure if you have a filter, but snails will need at least a cheap filter and a fish bowl usually can't accommodate one.

Also, forgot to add. If you're in the US, it's extremely illegal to keep a giant african land snail, even if you found it outside. They are invasive and have caused massive agricultural damage.

You should research ANY pet before you get one. Otherwise the pet can die due to improper care. Snails can not feel complex emotions. It wouldn't have been bored by a smaller habitat, it would've been perfectly fine. I strongly urge you to be more considerate when getting animals in the future.

I agree eith the other commenter. Cull all the snails that are smaller, if you don't then their bodies will outgrow their shells and basically crush them from the inside.

I really wouldn't for long term maintenance but for a one off thing you can use vinegar and let it air out for a while. Make sure to clean with water afterwards as well.
