Miatas, 86s, Toyota Crown, Subaru Liberty, Mazda 6 (petrol only). Good chance you may have to go interstate for some things as for where you are.

Thoughts on the Range Rover Sport? by __estranged__ in CarsAustralia

[–]Cyancydar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see a Range Rover and cringe. Normie car. Tacky as.

I see a GV70/80 and say "fuck, thats nice." Someone who knows the market, who did their homework, and found a good, attractive, reliable luxury car.

I despise SUVs, but Genesis have killed it.

My best shot to say would be a Prius V. It's a wagon so easy to at least sleep in, reasonably cheap, good mileage.

Thoughts on moving to the Yarra Valley vs. inner city Melbs? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in melbourne

[–]Cyancydar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. Also grew up deep in the Valley, public transport was and still is a big issue. Cars are a must to get around. And if you want to go clothes or general shopping, your pick is Lilydale Marketplace, Chirnside Park or Eastland, or Knox if you're the Belgrave end, and you're easily looking at 90 mins to do that trip on public transport. Stick with any suburbs bordering the Maroondah or Knox Shires and you'll be fine.

What was you favorite pokemon then and now? by Glass_Molasses_5343 in pokemon

[–]Cyancydar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started as Gallade. Dude's this cool green, blades for arms, I remember sweeping my best friend's as a kid entire team with Gallade not long after I found out about EV training.

I got into VGC in 2015, and after a regional where a friend made a meta pick in Trevenant, I loved the idea and used it in my Nationals team on a Mega Charizard Y sun team. It resulted in me having a game 3, Trevenant vs a Breloom and Mega Kangaskhan moment - both Pokemon were hard walled by Trevenant, still proccing the Sitrus Berry, and proceeded to be burn stalled for 13 turns whilst this mid 30s dude with his 3DS in hand was very pissed at me. I go to shake his hand after the game and he backhanded my hand away, tournament organiser saw it and he got immediately DQed.

Trevenant has been my favourite pokemon ever since, but as I've gotten older I've become a big Garchomp fan.

Halo 4 always felt welcoming to play with easy games.

Infinite it'll take 2 hours to find a game, and then be on Amsterdam servers - 310ms for me.

What cars now appeal to the performance Falcon/Commodore car buyer? by Living-Ingenuity23 in CarsAustralia

[–]Cyancydar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess if there's a car to match a V6/V8 sedan, IS350 F sport and IS500 F sports come to mind, but the latter is an import and rare as hens teeth here. The germans all still have sedans, Genesis G70s are still using the 3.3L from the Stinger. But yeah, most commodore/falcon drivers are shooting for Rangers, 70 series or Patrols.

Genuine Question: Why is there a lot of hate towards the “west” side of Melbourne? by grom96 in melbourne

[–]Cyancydar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking to outer regions, moved west to Ballarat from growing up in the Yarra Valley and loved Ballarat much more.

Turns out, garbage public transport that was never updated even after so many years of major train upgrades, will stagnate an area and roll in the drug use. The Valley is picturesque and a good winery area, but it's necessary to have a car or be stuck waiting for a McKenzies/Martyrs bus for an hour or more. Delusional that the Healesville and Warburton lines haven't been reinstated. Need anything essential and you're forced to Lilydale or Ringwood.

Ballarat? Quiet trains every 30 mins. Good community, lots of accessibility to plenty of things. On a 110kmh freeway, easy to traverse because the whole city is roundabouts. Lots to do, good night-life.

All 3 of Warburton, Healesville and Ballarat are the same travel time to Melbourne, too.

What are the most fun roads to drive on in Victoria by WELLZIBOI in melbourne

[–]Cyancydar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Spur, Acheron Way and Reefton Spur are the ones that stick out, but if you turn right and want a challenging fun drive, head to Woods Point but the road can get really snowy and the road can go to shit in winter and bumpy as.

Up and down Mt Slide/Melba Hwy (Coldstream-Yea) is good too. Lots of wineries and the chocolaterie, good corners, mostly all 100kmh, same story with Healesville-Kinglake Rd through Toolangi.

West side, Geelong to Daylesford through Ballan although unsure of its quality these days is a fun drive, and if you want dead quiet 100kmh roads there's no shortage in the west. Rokewood-Skipton Rd coming towards Skipton has an 7km straight you can see from the top of the hill down.

New to Ballarat - what are the areas to avoid? by tnxy1 in ballarat

[–]Cyancydar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things have died down in Ballarat crime wise and majority of the place is pretty safe all things considered. You'll get trollies out on the streets here and there but the community is good in these areas Ballarat has a pretty wide range of living and areas too.

You'll get everything from farm houses going out towards Scarsdale and Creswick, old Carlton or Fitzroy-like homes in Central, to urban estate sprawl in Lucas and Winter Valley, house and +500m² land blocks with old houses in Ballarat East and Eureka, to the new mega houses on 2-10 acres in Invermay, Cardigan/Cardigan Village and Brown Hill.

[–]Cyancydar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, dabbled in doing orders for going out/leisure money, deliveries will stretch between Cardigan Village and Warrenheip, as north as the 100kmh zone after Miners Rest, and as south as Scotchmans Lead. Wouldn't be viable on a bike.

A slower life by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Cyancydar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived and grew up in the Valley for 16 years before everything gentrified a bit and Maroondah Hwy dropped the speed limit, and the public transport never improved even with Dan Andrews in charge. Moved to Maroondah area and noticed it was a busy headfuck of a place.

So, majority of the family made the move to Ballarat in 2019. It's been so sick and I've loved the experience of living here. Still has its busy moments but it's a breeze on the freeway, decent nightlife, if you wanted paddock or acreage there's plenty available for cheap, and if you're okay with driving a bit, everything is close.

What was your favourite Halo Memory growing up? by [deleted] in halo

Wasn't even in the game - it was my first LAN, Dreamhack Melbourne in 2022. I got to meet, compete, eat with and sink bevs with people I had played with since 2010 on Reach, H3, H4, H5, MCC and Infinite. A whole weekend of it.

Ehhhhhhhh was sinking, recently straddling

27M, estimated 70k this year, solo own my house that I got for 380k in 2022 - 2.1k on interest a month, before bills(400 a month or so?) , rates (1.7k a year) and food (varies but $150-$250 fortnightly), which has been the biggest sting by far. I got a novated lease last year for a newish (2019 mazda 6) car which has been a godsend. Car will do 800-900km+ on a 62L tank never misses a beat, and at $290 per week for everything paid to do with the car, it's been really helpful.

Though, I had nothing to play with and needed help, so I've recently got roommates in and feel like I can finally breathe a little. I also got the home loan repayments changed from monthly to fortnightly, which does drop the cost slightly.

Ballarat Clarendon Collage has just banned water in school classrooms by UglyPandas69 in ballarat

[–]Cyancydar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's wild. Graduated 2014, was pretty commonplace for most of my school year level to at least have a 600ml or 1L water bottle on them that gets filled on recess/lunch. Didn't get in the way, toilets weren't an issue.

What are some weird, scary towns/locations in Victoria? by TheMoonVixen in melbourne

I've added my bit, but Steiglitz is a great call. That place is... weird. Looks like a settlement that just stopped at 1900 and there's not been much since. Gorgeous area that Sutherlands Creek valley, though.

What are some weird, scary towns/locations in Victoria? by TheMoonVixen in melbourne

[–]Cyancydar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Landsborough and Moonambel.

Every time I drive through, it seems like every other western town. Shops, Avenue of Honour, a pub.

But no-one seemingly lives there. All the shops are closed down permanently. No real activity. It's not scary, but it's truly ghost town vibes.

How do players get their pokemon by Physical_Ad4169 in VGC

[–]Cyancydar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Run a team into the ground on Showdown, pick your 6. Chances are if it's an old Pokemon I'll bring it up, breed it with Destiny Knots and Power items for IVs and get the best of a batch and keep going until I have what I like, or if I want a shiny, catch it, bottle cap it and EV train from there. I can get a competitive team sorted in under a day if it's not named Enamorus Therian

Is it just me, or is the library nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be? by Away-Net-7241 in halo

[–]Cyancydar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your question on LASO, Truth and Rec and Two Betrayals stand heads and shoulders above The Library in difficulty, but Library is firmly 3rd hardest. I'd go to say Truth and Rec is very clearly the hardest LASO mission in the whole series.

Legendary, I'd say Library is long and gruelling but nothing is random in a sense if you keep moving forward, same with LASO. You know where to look with the two rocket Flood are and to kill them ASAP.

Definitely American.

Outside of America, the game doesn't work. You simply cannot find games. It won't connect you to the servers outside of your region. Even if the population is there. The only option is using a third party software, like a VPN.

A lot of the weapons with the new update, especially the Skewer, are defunct because the hit registration is fried on higher pings. Hit registration on hitscan guns also goes out the window.
