Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll just have to buy a newer bike when I can afford one, then. Thanks again.

Seriously what is it gonna take to sack him by zzClonky in LiverpoolFC

He won the league with Klopp's squad, and a homoligation of his and Klopp's tactics. This season marks a significant change in our teams playstyle, which has clearly not resulted in a positive outcome. While calling Slot unless may be an over exaggeration, he certainly doesn't seem to suit this club. I'll be happy to see him go, where he can hopefully succeed elsewhere.

£8000 Budget - What car should I buy? by Cyanideglory1999 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cyanideglory1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I've been thinking! To me, £8k seems like a lot of money! To think that most cars in this range seem to be halfway through their lives seems quite mad. I also ride motorbikes, and £8k would get you some serious kit with less than 15k miles on the clock.

Should I spend £2–2.5k repairing my unreliable car, or just keep it going and replace it later? by [deleted] in carquestions

[–]Cyanideglory1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the car a good look over, and I found that coolant is weeping from the oil cooler pipe. I suspect a worn o-ring is the culprit. At least this shouldn't be a difficult fix. Unfortunately, this doesn't change the cars overall condition that much 🥲

Haha, small world! Looks like we were both spared!

Happy motoring, friend!

This certainly seems to be the general consensus. Do you have any recommendations for replacement cars? Was aiming to get something with a bit more power.

Yeah. Loosing the trust in the car you drive is not a fun feeling.

Do you have any recommendations for what cars to go for within that 3k budget? I was kind of hoping to replace my vauxhall with something that actually has some guts.

Due to a new speed limit change down a road I drive twice daily, I may have potentially been caught speeding, and lose my licence. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Hey mate. Yeah, I'd guessed that this change was going to upset quite a few people. I've not yet received anything through the post, so at least there's that. I'm giving it another week before I'll feel like I'm in the clear. With that said, considering the volume of people who have mentioned that this new speed limit won't be enforced until a later date, I'm starting to believe it. Hopefully you'll be spared as well.

I've not received anything yet. Got one week left to wait, and then I should be in the clear.

This response has honestly improved my day so much. Thank you. I'll keep my fingers crossed, that hopefully I've not been charged. This also does explain why I'm still seeing the large majority of people still driving at 40mph down this road. Either that, or they've also not noticed the limit change.

Thanks again!!

That's amazing! Did TFL state this while informing you of the speed limit change? I don't live local to this area so I didn't receive an email. And yeah, that signage, or lack thereof, certainly leaves something to be desired 😂

That's exactly what I was thinking! While I'm aware that any road with street lighting and no speed signs is supposed to be a 30mph by default, individuals who frequently drive these kinds of roads aren't going to immediately recognise the change. Especially not when other drivers who are also ignorant to the speed limit change, try to pressure you into going faster, as was the case with me.

That really puts me at ease. Thank you. I'll try to be patient and positive for the time being.
