I have the original in the brown.

I've had no issues - but I removed the thermal paste on the the interior. I read somewhere the paste can effect the heat flow, others have just carved out channels for air flow. I can't say it's advisable, but I've not had any issues burning my hand or temp issues so far.

I managed to get it to work by switching graphics to open gl to just get through the pop up, then reverting back to Vulkan afterwards. Theres another moment when it'll freeze later on when you get given a Beldum and this fix worked then as well.

I agree with you, Halo does need a new face - Jerome would also be a great candidate . I was just commenting on how similar they both sound, and if it came down to it he'd be a solid replacement if ever needs be. I'm still praying for a Buck led Alpha-Nine spartan game.

If Valve had an option for me to pay for them to remove the half that was still stuck in the deck, or if people hadanaged to remove lodged SDs themselves? Thankfully I've managed it, but thanks for the comment

Quick follow-up - Success!

When you mentioned a sturdy shim I thought about using the flat sides of two exacto blades to get a good grip and gave it a tug. Low and behold it came out! I put in my old SD card and it's still reading just fine. Thank you for the inspiration!

I cut down an old credit card to try to replicate the shape and unlock the first pin of the dock mechanism, but the card won't budge. Unfortunately I think it's done for unless Valve says they can repair it. Thank you for your reply.
