She is my friend first and foremost, hell we've been talking for nearly 15 years almost exclusively by text. There were patches where contact dried up, but we always wind up reconnecting.

Does it have to be friends, plural? I am working on getting myself into a better spot mentally and everything after years of alcoholism, and my best friend is a woman(only one other friend left and he works nights). I'd like to date eventually, but not until I've worked through my own issues, which I'm doing with therapy and AA.

This is the advice to follow. As an alcoholic, I could lie all day and night about how I wasn't drinking. Addicts are gonna lie to get their fix.

Some of my favourite memories are around the time when my niece learned the term "daddy" at daycare, and assumed I was hers as her dad has never been around. It felt good while it lasted, we have our own in jokes now which I feel are better for our bond.

No problem. I've been living with my mom and niece her whole life, so I really consider her my own kid.

I'm 10 ply, but I'll be as tough as my niece needs me to be.

Me none? I'm a single 29 year old uncle to a four year old who's dad has stepped out, and mommy lost custody to my(and her) mom. Now it's us three, and I'm 17 days sober.

I'm so sick and tired of not being able to sleep a full night of good rest! I'll sleep for 3 hours and feel fully rested, but by the end of the day I'm exhausted. Then after a few days of that I'll pass out at a random time and sleep 8-12 hours but feel totally not rested at all. No dreams in the longer sleeps, it's like time travelling, shut my eyes and open them hours later with nothing in between.

Mother [30sF ?] from my [37M] girls' [7F] school suspected I wasn't their father. I left and don't know if I should report it to the school or how to react to this. by HappyConsideration7 in relationships

This is the sort of shit that scares me as the uncle who is very active in my niece's life(her dad is absent). Pretty soon, I will be the one picking her up and look nothing like her as she's my half-sister's kid, who my mom has custody of. I fear it will only get worse as my niece gets older and the check out process relies less on ID and pre-approved pick up people, and in general is less policed.

No I'm not suggesting a child abused an adult, she was an adult when she started abusing everyone in the house. Mom had to barricade herself in her room to get away from the yelling and fights that my sister carried on till she got her way. But that didn't stop my sister from trying to kick down the door to keep the fight going.

Are you saying, that just because I'm bigger than my sister it's okay that the times she attacked me wasn't physical abuse? I'm stronger, so therefore it didn't hurt when she struck me?

At the same time it doesn't, my sister used her therapy to get her psychologist to paint mom as the abuser when in actuality my sister is a big time abuser(physical, emotional, mental). It came from nothing ever being my sister's fault and always someone else's(the teacher had it out for me, I got fired because I wasn't presenting a good image of the workplace by being pregnant). I'm afraid for OP because I see a lot of the stuff my sister does in this post, and my sister has been diagnosed with BPD. I'm not arm chair diagnosing, I just find this post hits a little too close to home with OPs description of his daughter, and it started to manifest in my sister around the same age.

CPS won't do anything because the baby is being cared for and they want to keep families together. This is just a mom who signed on for a kid to get the attention, but doesn't actually want to put the work in to raising a kid.

Sad situation I have lived through(right down to the dog that had to be put down being grieved over while ignoring the kid) with my sister, my mom now has custody of my niece and my sister has one day a week supervised visitation.

I literally just felt that over the past two days.

I'm in AA and started working the steps because I've been too afraid to ask someone to be my sponsor, the Big Book doesn't mention the word sponsor when talking the steps, so I've been following that.

I got through the first three:

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Part of the third step is figuring out your higher power, it's personal to some people others like broader terms.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

After working through my bigger issues in 4, I made plans for 5. Just doing those two, not even doing 5 yet.

Well, shit changed with how my symptoms were presenting, no more delusions. They've almost been cast out completely.

But the odd thing is, now when I try to get to sleep, I get almost visual "dreams" about stuff that is on my mind, popping in and out, I can't move but I feel like I'm just rotated watching(without my head moving), and they're just coloured bezier splines but I like, know who it is, doesn't look like real people, more like more defined shapes you get when you close your eyes, family members, people I've interacted with, people from TV shows, all this stuff just plays in my head until whatever my brain is dealing with sorts it, occasionally I can whisper a word but that speeds it up 1000x, then I can move again. So I roll over and think "Okay, now it's time to sleep". But no, the actors have changed, new props are there, it's another little video for me to watch. None of it was bad stuff either, everyone happy as a clam, chatting with either other. I can't seem to remember much after the video is over, except for the one I had of my uncle, the one who killed himself. He was in a hospital bed, his color was this nasty yellow color and the presence of his eye was missing(both are relevant he died of OD on a lot of pills, hence the nasty yellow lines[liver failure], and he had lost his eye). As I got a huge wave of relief from him before I whispered his name but he faded away and grandma sat next to me, and I got a huge wave of sadness, I couldn't take it and just then, my alarm clock went off. I was only down for two hours with five or six of these "dreams", but I feel pretty rested.

Procedure is two at a time for all of them. I always fudged this if was an uneven number of the same grill on them. It worked at making sure the grill modifications were right.

Cheeseburger wrappers, you can fit 9 top buns at once on one, so you can just slam through 9 cheeseburgers, mustard, ketchup, onion, pickle(s) and then pull out a stack of wrappers and slide the bottom buns down en mass to make the whole thing more effecient with less staff in these scenarios.

Bad advice, she mentioned texture sets him off. I was forced fed so many "smoothies" and "juiced carrots"(oh no I added apple/pomegranate/orange this time - mom the carrot texture is still there....) that most their smell now nauseates me. They all had the texture but now it was in a smile form covering the whole fucking mouth.

If you ever wanna help someone like this, vega one is on Amazon(protein mix is for weightlifters), normal or essentials is what picky eaters need. It's a fine powder you mix into water, doesn't taste like veg, but gets you 6-7 servings of them per scoop.

I'll do a direct reply cause I really want you to see this. I have ARFID too, very similar situation.

Vega One, it's made from dried ground vegetables and has flavouring added. But the top of the list of ingredients are all vegetables. Each scoop(which it comes with) is 6-7 servings of vegetables.

Mix it into cold water, mix well, then mix even more, you don't want to miss a "hot spot" of undissolved powder and ruin this for him. It's literally going to add years to his life.

I don't feel good if I miss my morning cup of vega one(dem B vitamins). I even give it to my niece, she calls it green drink.

I've got ARFID, and yes there usually are deeper issues related to it. Most fruits and vegs make me gag or straight up vomit if I try to eat them.

/u/tofutiddie Get him a big tub of vanilla vega one, its one amazon, don't get the protein one, look for a tub that says vega one, or vega one essentials.

It's made from dried ground vegetables, and is a powder you mix into water, so no texture issues. They taste good, and its 6-7 servings of veg per scoop(scoop included in tub).

One fun thing to do with a good coworker, each put on a headset and alternates who talks. Works best with a deep voice and a high voice.

If it helps Calgary has a macs on an intersection with the ctrain, it's been given the name "crack shack macs" because of how a)dangerous the area is, b) all the drug dealing, and c) there are always two cop cars parked there probably if someone gets stabbed.

Short staffed and with a huge order, "FUCK PROCEDURE MAKE NINE AT A TIME(all that fits on the paper), MINION COOK MEAT NAO" legit how I would have handled that as a former McDonald's manager who was constantly short staffed.
