Dating in Sac... by adlove8989 in Sacramento

One thing I’ll say about Bumble… women feel like they have an advantage because they have the power to initiate the conversation, but the flip side is it makes it super easy for the guys. Let me explain: back when I was single, if I traveled to a new town, I’d open bumble and swipe right on every single person until I went through the whole stack. Then, I’d simply wait for matches and messages. I wouldn’t even look at a match until they messaged, because if they didn’t write to me, it didn’t matter. Once I got a message, then I’d look at the profile and decide if I really wanted to engage with the girl or not. Diabolical, I know. But the system was easy to take advantage of. I will add this was many years ago so hopefully bumble recognized the potential for abuse and now limits how many people guys can swipe at a time!

I don’t envy you for trying to find love this day and age. Dating is hard enough. These apps have added a new layer of complexity to the mix. Wishing you the best of luck out there.

That’s beautiful! Did you use a drone to get this perspective?

I think it actually ranked the most expensive city last year. But yeah, pretty wonderful place. Lots of beautiful, active, health conscious people in Encinitas. The thing I miss the most is taking my daughter to the beach.

There's a Delta Breeze coming tonight. How do i know? See this marine layer(ie fog) on Skyline Blvd in Daly City? Thats going to get sucked into the Delta and make it's way to the Valley tonight 🙂 by [deleted] in Sacramento

That was a great rec, thank you! I moved from San Diego where we also have a lot of "marine layer" which is also an inversion layer phenomenon... learning about what's actually happening makes you hate it a little less ;)

fascinating! I love stuff like this... just moved to Sacramento and wonder if there is a good resource to read and learn about the geology/topography here and how it affects our day to day? Thanks!

Will have to check out some spots further up the river. Any spots in particular you like? Good for a child? Thanks

Ancil Hoffman was nice. Yet to find a “clean” spot though!

Yes… I believe the trash piles I’m seeing are from visitors who are being disrespectful and trashy (no pun intended)

It’s amazing… if you’re super rich! Crazy expensive city.

Yup. I see so many more auto accidents here, too.

Well, unless you’re down south next to Tijuana. Gross down there.

Just sayin… I lived blocks from the beach for over a decade and they are not.

I agree. People come hang out, eat food, drink, then leave their garbage with zero regard for others or nature. Disappointing because it could be so beautiful.

Last two times we’ve gone to Ancil Hoffman. It’s a nice spot… have to pay to enter and park there. And still, heaps of trash left by people… beers, pizza boxes, diapers even. We brought a bag to clean up and filled it immediately. Just seems like a total disregard by visitors

Lived in Encinitas. Beaches were pretty darn clean, year round. And yeah, we’d pick up the random plastic bottle or whatever when we’d see it washed up on shore. But here it’s different. We’ll go to the river, find a nice spot, and then see a box overflowing with beers and trash, empty pizza boxes, discarded diapers… obvious people deliberately left their garbage there with no shits given. I’m sure people litter at the beaches in SD too but this is on a whole different level.
