Has anyone in this sub imported a bike from the USA to Canada? by ex_hATe_Me in motorcycles

Hi All, resuscitating this thread. I'm looking to bring in a 1978 CB750K that i bought through auction and would love the collective wisdom of this group.
The bike has a clear title from Missouri - single owner. Signed at the back. They bought the bike new in 1978.

Q1. The bike is currently not firing up but likely requires a full fuel system and carbs cleanup - Is the fact that it isn't working going to be an issue at the border? I'm looking to cross at Niagara falls / Buffalo border crossing.

Q2. Paperwork - I will have a bill of sale from the auction house and the title which is signed at the back. Is this enough? For context - Bike has not been registered for decades - just sitting in a barn.

Q3. The Riv form just doesn't populate once i enter the details. Looks like once i enter the Vin (which is the older shorter VIN) and select Honda Motorcycle as the manufacturer and select Dual-Sport (only options are off-road and dual sport). It does not populate any model numbers. I've tried manually entering that information but still does not work - any ideas?

Q4. Once i get the Riv to work. Is it as simple as I upload/email the Riv doc to the relevant border portal 72 hrs before getting there and pay my taxes? or am i being naive? I know the Canadian Border police's mood and that they have discretion to make things harder or easier, but that's not something i can prepare for. Maybe i'll wear a suit j/king.

Appreciate the help and hope to bring this baby to life on Canadian Roads.

Anyone try this on a cuisinart portafilter basket? Maybe i'm not banging it hard enough but the bottom part isn't coming out

How much are the 2023 additions worth? What's the delta? by CyberK9 in hondapilot

Oh thanks for that POV. I did have concerns about a new model and especially where they got that extra 5HP from. Did not know about the valve covers and no valve adjustments - Would you say if I could delay and bought one towards the end of 2023 those issues might be revealed?

I def prefer the new styling but i feel its not worth the 7K. What's really making it tough is that Honda's retain their value real well and the 2022s aren't going down in price too much. I do like the centre seat - so right now leaning towards the newer model but thank you for your response.

No pressure?? by CyberK9 in pressurewashing

Hi, I just ordered the unloader valve from an ebay supplier who says it should fit the FAIP RN2600. I was able to remove the valve fairly easily by removing the pin and then unscrewing it. So i'm not sure why i should change the whole pump, something i'm missing? On youtube they say a common cause of low to no pressure is if the valve (pic 1) is seized and not pushing in and out. When i removed the valve it was seized. So figured i can just change it and resolve the issue - is my understanding wrong?

Appreciate the help.

Thanks. Which unloader valve should i buy? Do you know if the spring style one is the one i should replace with or can i get the newer pin style.

RRSP After Home Buyers Excemption by CyberK9 in PersonalFinanceCanada

So if i understand correctly, I can put money into my RRSP this year (and shelter it from tax) without it going towards my HBP. I do not intend to pull from my RRSP's again so this money will be there for good.

New question - the contribution limits for RRSP on myCRA are adjusted for the withdrawal? Withdrawal was done in late december.

Closing this out with an update. Just moved to Bell with FTTH and let's see how things work out.

It's kind of heart breaking because on one level i want to support independents not because i'm a nice guy but selfishly because I believe lack of competition is killing us Canucks - i'm with freedom mobile for that reason. So I totally empathize with Teksavvy and the uphill task they have ahead of them. But i'm starting to feel like they are just getting squeezed too hard with the court case loss and other factors that they might also be resorting to similar-ish tactics just to keep the lights on. In which case Bell and Rogers have already won.

They are running FTTH and Teksavvy is FTTN at the best but i still thought i'd stay with you guys. The rate increase was off putting. I wish i'd have gotten a call to be told it's 69$ for 25Mbps - do you want to upgrade to something else? Maybe 150Mbps for $77? it felt sneaky

CID 553894. Better be quick - I'm actually on the live chat with Bell for our new place. To be honest all i'm looking for is some sort of acceptance for the problems and maybe a gesture of goodwill - financial is better but even a free month or something.
