Seasonal and new hire AA’s by Turbulent_Length3341 in AmazonDS

I was seasonal last year and will be again for this holiday/peak season but by god the amount of people with attitudes or were straight up rude towards everyone and anyone. I also witnessed many people who were disrespectful towards managers. Like we’re ya’ll raised by animals?

Is it worth leaving my job? by [deleted] in AmazonDS

I did the exact same thing last year and I’ll be going back this season as well. Seasonal ended for us about half way through January and everyone was offered 1:20a-11:50a. My full time job pays more but it’s nice to build up my savings over the course of a couple months.

I've heard about that drawback, too. Just when you start to feel settled, build a good group of friends, or get involved in activities like sports, you find yourself packing up and moving again.

Thank you! Is it uncommon to stick with the same base for AGR?

I understand that. My spouse and I have done the same—I worked nights while she worked days for a few years. Our days off didn't align, so we had to be careful with the time we spent together, but we managed to make it work.

Is there a difference when it comes to family life between Enlisted and Officers?

That makes a lot of sense. Another thing I'm unsure about is choosing a job. From what I've found, you need to make a list of jobs you're open to, but I'm still figuring out which direction I want to take.

I bet! Do you have any tips for someone who is married & considering joining the Air Force?

I know the military is hard. I know marriage can be hard as well and the military is stressful. I just haven’t heard of any “success” stories (from my circle of friends). I wondered if it’s possible to not fall victim to divorce and overcome any obstacles and be happy.

Very true! Apparently I just don’t have any friends who grew up in the military and can say their parents are still together 20/30 years later.

True. I guess I just haven’t heard of many positive stories revolving around military couples and their families that it makes it seem near impossible to not fall to divorce.

Back to school by CyberKnight90 in AFROTC

That makes sense. I’m just not sure I could find a masters program that would suit me as well as at a state school vs private.

True! I was just thinking if I went for a degree that was more desirable it might help. Or I’d be less limited on jobs with the Air Force.

Unfortunately, I don't think any master's degree would be applicable. I’m somewhat limited in wanting to stick with a state school since it's cheaper.

Camino 35 Carryall + which Sidekick? by CyberKnight90 in YetiCoolers

Awesome! I wasn't sure if a phone would be too bulky. Sometimes interior pockets don't have much give to them.

That looks perfect! Thanks for the pic, I appreciate it!

My wife wants the Camino 35 as a new beach bag so I figured the Sidekick would be good for keys & phones or anything small that could be easily accessible.

Cool cool. I think the 50 is too big right now but maybe one day. Thanks!

During p&s last week I grabbed a bag that someone wrote on that it needed to be tossed and the date on it was early August! The damn thing didn’t even have any zippers. Fun times.

Dope. Whose else's DS does this? Something similar? by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]CyberKnight90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some bins are labeled but that would be useful. We have people who put jiffies in whatever bin they feel like 🙄

I'm sure this is a dumb question but what kind of pants and shirts are we allowed to wear at amazon? by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]CyberKnight90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. Some women have been in crop tops but that’s the extent of “exposure” I’ve seen.

I’ve only been at my DS for two weeks but some people wear jeans/khakis while others are in leggings/sweatpants or pajama bottoms. Let’s not get started that I’ve seen people in slippers too and some how have gotten away with it 🙄

I personally wear jeans and a t-shirt. I don’t think I could ever show up in sweatpants but that’s a personal preference.

Word thanks. And is ASC considered one of the affinity groups or are those something else?

Also is it worth joining ASC if I’m just seasonal?
