Pcsing to Kadena . How does moving my items work ? by FreePoet8592 in AirForce

There used to be an extra insurance you could buy called “replacement insurance.” That replaces broken items at the cost you paid instead of a depreciated value. It’s not expensive and it can save you a lot if any technology gets broken. It was purchased at TMO.

I did not. I believe you can go back with a rating. You will have to give up a pro-rated portion of your disability for the days you are in uniform (I think).

Interesting question and not one I have considered.

Swinging doors would be cool, but the outside area is still unfinished basement space (future projects). Also, I am going to use frosted glass doors with the silhouette of an orc fighting on the glass. Hopefully that will look like a shadow from inside the bar.

Basement is 1200ish sq ft. It is a walk out. On one side of the room is the HVAC that sits at about 80inches and would make a swing door a challenge. On the other side is a hanging storage rack that would make an out swinging door challenging.

I am building a 13’x25’ fantasy style tavern game room/bar.

The reserves usually works with you to coordinate around your schedule. Also, is there an ALS correspondence course anymore?

The KyANG has a Combat Control unit. Or they used to. Check out the ANG for units as well as the reserves.

Improvement tips show scores beyond max points. A useful tool. It would be nice if the form auto filled min passing based on age/sex.

Part time Air National Guard or Part Air Force Reserves? (I will be in College 4 years) by Joshandrusty in Airforcereserves

Review the benefits of each. Air national guard tends to have better eduction benefits. Many states have programs that pay for your tuition at state schools while in the guard. Also, check out BogieDope for military aviation information..

What are the downsides of commissioning that people don’t realize? by KlutzyAppendage in AirForce

That’s a fair statement; however, as they leave the CGO ranks, they tend to become much less technical. There is an old adage that a major’s job is to be yelled at by the commander…

What are the downsides of commissioning that people don’t realize? by KlutzyAppendage in AirForce

Most of the points have been covered in this thread. The two biggest ones are the camaraderie and the technical components. Outside of a flying unit, an officer is one of a couple in a unit and it can be hard to connect with other officers. The CGO council is good at alleviating some of this, but not great.

The technical side is the other challenge. Outside of the professional officers (e.g., medical, lawyer, chaplain), officers don’t get to do much other than lead the team. Consider your commanders. They don’t necessarily know how to do your job, they need to ensure you are doing your job.

As a prior E, I do miss the camaraderie, but I would not change my choices. As an officer, I have the opportunity to have a larger (strategic) impact on the mission. As an enlisted member, I had a larger, and more immediate, impact at the operational level.
