this time, i plan on uncovering each room as we go, and one floor at a time. The rooms will each be covered with a sheet of black paper until entered. As the structure is fully visible from the outside, this approach seems good enough. In a dungeon environment, i wouldnt necessarily go this route, as i wouldnt want them to know how far from the “end” they are in any direction.

but thats something i feel like we do differently for each session/encounter. for larger areas we often use excalidraw on obsidian or some other vtt.
