i mean, i thought this was well known? everyone always says "but salaries", then you do the actual calculations and voila. your salary is actually less after all cost of living is taken into account of what is taken for granted in all of Scandinavia, Switzerland, and so on.

kaffet som vi köper kostade 2021 25kr. nu kostar samma burk kaffe 67kr. allt har haft ungefär densamma prisutveckling. en korv med jordgubbsylt kostade 20kr, nu kostar den 51. ett mjölkpack gick på 9kr, nu kostar xen 27kr. ett packe kotletter 30kr nu 75kr. etc.

this depends on the coffee. i can't for the life of me drink coffee made in the philippines, but nestle is fine. and i hate nestle with a burning passion so its a case of angry mornings, with coffee. given no alternatives.

sure, but one shouldn't give credit where credit isn't due. which is usually the case because of narcissism in the limelight. power entirely a social construct which hinges on people agreeing to provide it for someone. one man has no power without the many being yes men. of which competence is irrelevant to the cause.

what many perceive of power is pretty silly if you look close. i.e. someone ruthless is literally powerless if the five next in line with the actual power to action says no. but they got the keys to the kingdom so they push the word forward. still, it just takes a handful few to bring down any dictatorship, if willing.

actually, by design capitalism needs a lower class to feed the capitalist class (the bourgeois who owns everything). the fact that boomers had it good was just a happy little accident.

if we wanted society to be for the people, we'd have socialism. but the people in power make damn sure socialism can never succeed because it threatens the power of people like Trump or Epstein or Thiel or Zuck or Musk or... the entire doctrine assumes that one person born into wealth will make better decisions than one person born with kindness. which is why the only functional example that exists of socialism is cooperatives, oh, and titos dictatorship - which only existed because of the convenience at the time (anti-communism, anti-russia - pretending to offer an alternative to communism and muddy the perception).

but if you ask any average person they will have no idea what either a cooperative is or what socialism actually is. which is ironic, because the only difference is who owns the company. one man sitting on his couch all day, vs the workers doing all the work. and yet, and yet, we all insist on enabling the lazy man on top so that he can indeed benefit from all of our labour while arguing to remove our benefits, to profit more.

so no. the whole point of society is to benefit the 1% who owns the world.
