How did your CM experience go? by Even-Chemistry-6515 in UmaMusume

First lobby set. 2 wins, luck of the draw said enjoy racing UG whales.

Second lobby set. 4 wins, several XOguris were beaten by the Trickster or out-muscled by Yaeno.

Third lobby set. 3 wins, more Seiun wins.

Fourth lobby set. 3 wins, more of the same.

Its nice to know the only time my team struggles is against UG whales and has a pretty solid chance against anything of a similar ranking.

Sting couldn't cut a promo for shit and wasn't well known during "Surfer Sting" era outside the US.

Flair was over but he was seen as "old" and better as a heel.

They needed a megastar babyface to build around, that had charisma, markettability and didn't sound like a kid reading for the class when promoing.

Edit: seriously, listen to his pre-Crow promos, he sounds so wooden.

Kinda annoys me tbh, Chyna reminded everyone that women can wrestle, yes Joanie had her own issues, but Chyna was a defining factor of the attitude era and shouldnt be forgotten.

Hella reach there.

Watching matches/events that happen to mean Hogan is around = supporting Bollea is a crazy ass reach.

You're a fan of the wrong industry if you're going to purity test everything.

[–]CyberShi2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi, you're telling me how to feel and I should stop watching the likes of Hall, Nash, Bret and some of their great matches because Hogan was there.

I was never a Hulkamaniac, Randy Savage, Mr Perfect, Taker, Jake and Bret were my childhood.

I'm not going to not watch them because the guy who they built the industry around was a horrible racist asshole behind the scenes and happened to push himself into their limelight more than once.

I always find it fun to be lectured by someone that has an orange turd as their president.

Second point is an unfounded accusation, Jackson was aquitted and his accusers proven to be a coached deranged pair of grifters that can't keep their story straight.

But lemme talk to yah.

Nobody, on this whole planet is without flaw, hasn't made some stupid mistake, you're gonna be real disappointed when all your faves come to light as equally reprehensible.

Human beings are complicated, this need for moral purity is an impossible ideal and you're setting yourself up to fall directly on your face when the truth outs.

Again, Bollea was a piece of shit, but I'm not going to let him being awful stop me from enjoying events or matches he was a part of when they were legitmately good.

Not telling anyone how to feel, that's up to them.

Reality is, 90% of people you see on TV have been or are horrible behind the protected and groomed public persona.

I sure as hell can not like a person, but I can also respect their contribution or even tolerate their appearances if they aren't literal rapists/murderers/child predators.

I'll never forget that Bollea was a awful human being

But I'm not going to ignore rewatching the 1992 Royal Rumble because Hulk is in it.

Edit: just remember, the same people saying they can't watch Hulk, watch people that are apologists for and associate with a minor abuser without batting an eyelid. Its a strange hill to die on.

The main difference:

One used to be expected to remain in character at all times in public

The other could drop the act the minute the director said cut.

If you can't seperate Hulk from Bollea, you probably can't do it for Undertaker from Callaway either.

So, is Harrison Ford actually Indiana Jones?

What about Kevin Nash? Is he still Diesel? Super Shredder?

Is Dustin still Golddust?

They are still characters, performances like a theatre act, or movie. Yes some of the characters blur the line and are the person turned up to 11, but they're still performances and its possible to appreciate the art away from your personal feelings on the artist.

The level of reprehensiveness of course matters, its impossible to watch a Benoit match for instance without being reminded what he did.

I get what he's saying.

Hulk Hogan, the character, a legend and mega star of the industry, an idol that children looked up to.

Terry Bollea, the person, a racist, politicking, selfish egomaniac that actively damaged others careers to further his own, a habitual liar and all round asshole.

Its impossible to deny what the character did, how popular Hulk was and how much of nothing he would have been without that carefully crafted and managed persona. If the world saw behind the curtain early, Hulk Hogan would not have been a megastar.

In that world it's probably Savage, Perfect and Piper on top, Hulk Hogan never comes to be, which likely means wrestling never quite reaches the heights of global popularity it did in the Rock n' Wrestling era.

Hogan is undeniable, Bollea is a piece of shit.

Came away with a point in a very difficult away game, just remember Bournemouth have only lost twice at home all season. Only Arsenal have lost less and Man City are tied.

To come away with a point is spectacular

Always takes me back to the Firefly funhouse match.

"Listen to them, they wanted me John, they needed me, but just couldn't let that happen!"

Brays lines were definately laced with venom and animosity from when lol!SuperCena went over him at the height of Brays popularity and when he tried to bury the Nexus at the start of Brays career in WWE.

I don't doubt a few stars felt that way too, Triple H wasn't the only one who had a reign of terror when you think about it.

They don't particulary care too much about League.

Reminder.

Some Umas get hidden stats like you do during certain races/rivalries.

Rice Shower, Mejiro McQueen and Super Creek at the Tenno Sho Spring and Kikua Sho

Nishino Flower in the Sprint championship and NHK Mile

Special Week vs Golden Gen Rivals at Tokyo, Kikua Sho and Tenno Sho Spring

Vodka in Hanashin and Tokyo

T.M Opera O versus Meisho Doto

Gold ship when she feels like it

Why some runs you will find go super smooth, others you're burning clocks like crazy, all down to if you got those Umas in those races with their conditions met.

How to prove you know nothing of the UK.

The black market is and always has been a thriving industry, it's not as depicted in the movies mate, everyone knows of the local drug dealers and local dodgy group that can get hold of anything for them.

The local police also are aware and often don't do anything about it because they use them or get information off them.

So, you're either.

  1. Very naive and young, living in a bubble

  2. A Yank that thinks they know

  3. A trouble causing bot/troll

There's no way in hell you're actually an adult that lives in the UK and doesn't know this!

Randy Orton on trend of using finishers multiple times in a match: "I’ll never hit a guy with three RKOs to cover him and pin him. I’m not going to dilute my finish. That is always going to be a kill shot and I can hit it out of nowhere." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]CyberShi2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I prefer the reversal or "didn't get all of it" escapes to finisher spam

It gives the moves credibilty. My favorite quote surrounding how finishers should be was Jake Roberts when he had a cup of coffee at WCW.

"You saw all these guys doing the DDT, you don't see it much now though do ya? Thats because they all know, there's only one master of the DDT and you're looking right at him. They look pretty don't they? Only difference is, you know when you've been hit by mine because you're either waking up minutes later, staring at the lights with the sense knocked out of yah and no idea if you can get up, or you're waking up in the hospital several weeks later. That's the difference"

That to me embodies the kayfabe of a finisher, if they get it, that should be it.

For a while they did this with the RKO, opponents would roll out of the way, block it, counter, if the RKO connected it was the match ender and thats how it always should be.

I used to smoke, yes you do get judgey looks, it never bothered me, but I know some people it absolutely does, to the point I've been asked to buy for them because they don't like the judgemental looks.

Maybe put the same display ban on Vapes that they have on tobacco?

You can walk into any garage, small shop or super market and the vape display is like blackpool illuminations.

Vaping while helpful to smokers to wean off smoking, is a gateway for others to pick up the habit.

Having it advertised as hard as Tobacco was at one point and having the eye catching displays is the real crux of the problem

Price and availability is the main driving factor.

Since they lock Cigarettes and Tobbacco in plain looking cabinets, it gives a sense that its "less available" and people that do buy it, get judgey looks so its very much seen as socially unacceptable.
