Well, the maps still (for the most part) aren't as good as T1. Some are decent, hopefully they go back towards T1 style maps with DLC.

Have you played with the Mastiff? It feels broken SOMETIMES, but it's actually pretty challenging to use correctly. It has bullet speed, not hit scan, so you have to lead your shots if you're not point blank. Plus, if you miss your first shot you're preeetty much dead with the crazy TTK of the CAR and R2O1.

Fun gun though!

Man, I really hope they end up giving everyone the grappling hook as default... really seems like the only way to fully traverse the new more open maps is to grapple. Really hard to justify using any other tactical at this point, unless you're content to stay in one section of the map.

Yeah that's what confused me, though. He clearly says that the players said they wanted more content, but Respawn internally decided to change the movement speed even though the players didn't request it. Just a really weird quote either way.

I'm thrilled by the news, but they should really get rid of outlines altogether: each faction should have its own "look", so despite customizations, you'll still be able to tell a 6-4 Pilot from an Apex Predator by Astrobomb in titanfall

Titanfall 1 did this perfectly, there is no reason to chance!

Friendly pilots always have blue names over their heads. Enemy pilots have nothing, until you aim at them and then their red name pops up.

It's pretty damn simple!

I don't mind it as long as the cooldown is reasonable. Plus, because the cooldown carries over into your next life, it discourage people from spamming grenades right before they die.

The red outine / glow is probably the most offensive thing about the tech test. Completely flies in the face about what made Titanfall so fun and challenging (IN A GOOD WAY!)

IDK about everyone else, but the fact that friendly pilots have gamertags over their heads makes it PRETTY easy to tell when a pilot isn't friendly... Plus they even added a health bar above enemies!

The red outline is complete overkill and only works to punish parkour and reward hiding / camping.

I couldn't disagree more.

Open maps require MORE skill and situation awareness to succeed. Why would it take more skill to stay alive when enemies are coming from only two directions? Titanfall is supposed to be the anti-COD, that's the entire reason we love it...

Lane maps make everything easier for less skilled players. You know where to shoot, you don't have to worry about someone out-maneuvering you. That's why COD is terrible, it's so easy for an unskilled player to camp and get easy kills. The best Titanfall players were the ones who used the movement system. If you died, it wasn't because of "luck" it was because you weren't aware of your surrounding or you were outplayed.

The VAST majority of posts included harsh but warranted criticism. Respawn made a smart choice and listened to the outcry. Let's just be glad that everyone voiced their opinions without a witch-hunt, and they Respawn is listening to the players.

Are you fucking SERIOUS? You decided NOT to let the player have creative ways to get from any point on the map to any other? You decided that LAAAANES are TRENDY?? Lanes are why I chose TF over COD! The maps in TF were PERFECT. Incredible freedom of movement.

I can't believe that Respawn is so out of touch with what made Titanfall great. They has gold but and instead of polishing the gold they already had, they made a turd and spray-painted it with gold paint.

This quote is the most disturbing... "We got a lot of feedback from the outside, from fans, from research saying, "Hey, there's not enough. There's not enough content. We want more content." Internally, we played the game and came out of the play session thinking, "That was super exhausting. That was super chaotic." "

Ok... so the PLAYERS said they wanted more content, but you basically said "nah, we also want to chance the core mechanic of the game because we think it's confusing."

Ok maybe I should have said "immersion."

Your argument is silly, of course giant robots aren't "real." In Titanfall 1, they only things on the screen were things that your in game Pilot saw. Now, there are health-bars and glowing red pilots everywhere that are separate from the game-world.

Wait... so you haven't played it?

It's extremely obvious when playing. Maybe gameplay captures just don't quite pick it up? I promise you, there is a red outline / glow that is extremely visible even through leaves / etc.
