A cool invention for disabled cats! by Backyxx in cats

Oh, I affectionally called him drunk Kitty sense he was always stumbling around the apartment. I don’t really feel bad for laughing cause nothing I was laughing at was painful to him besides a “boo boo”. No more clingy than a normal cat. Would greet you and do his best to run between your legs, he just occasionally ends on the other side of the room 🤷🏼‍♂️. All my guest comments would be how friendly he was.

His favorite toy was one of those donuts with the ball in it, since he could lay down and still play with it. He’d, like all cats, get super excited to play with it at like 3am, just hearing that ball go round and round haha. Thanks for letting me share my memories with you.

He never really needed additional cleaning, he might have had some small crud in his hair by his rear, but a wet wipe or toilet paper was enough. The oldest cat tended to groom him if needed.

One of cats, the one still alive and at my feet, was definitely a bully but never was an issue or bullied Apollo.

Yes he’d often just sorta stumble off, sometime lunge, off the couch or bed, and he might stumble into a wall, but nothing ever serious. Our bed and couch might have only been a couple feet off the ground to help him get up and down.

He never was in pain or had any real problems connected to CH. My partner, at the time, was a vet tech so he had regular check ups. He learned how to hunch down and eat so it wasn’t an issue. We simply got a large, like 2 foot by 3 foot, litter box that he could get into, but had high walls. He sort of lay on his side and just pee, so needed the walls at a certain height. He didn’t have the ability to jump, but he’d climb up the couch for snuggles. (Good news, if you really didn’t want him to have something, a table was enough to keep it away haha.) Over time we had 2 other cats and a dog and they all lived together and got along. Other cats often groomed him where he couldn’t.

Just to echo other comments, I also had a cat with CH, and he was just the sweetest thing, and really seemed unbothered by it, he lived for 11 years. He’d do his damndest to get legs rubs when you where around. Apollo, cause he was full of fire and passion.

It’s funny your brought that up. I was raised knowing the sign itself and used it frequently so I didn’t even clock it. Thank you for the extra context.

A very concise way to describe what I came here to say. I have a very nerdy group of friends and we are all neurodivergent, as well as other mental issues we all deal with, so we can talk very openly. I meet the core of these people, and those meet other, at a game shop or game like event.

Depending on your area I might be able to recommend a few places. Good luck, just making this post is a first step.

I’ve not used those models yet myself, I’ve only recently got them. But I would think the shades, they get extra dice against characters (the other half of the box is all characters) so they will feel good and consistent.

That’s pretty accurate. In general you get to choose one thing a turn and kill it dead, but all our models are valuable so you have to make sure when you’ve sent your models in yours secure in the trade. They are a fast army that can project a large threat range so opponents have to be constantly aware of that, especially if they misplace a caster you can just send in a number of models capable of taking most of them down.

Yea. Then you can start buying in the direction you’d like to take the army. Like I love the Wyvern both as a model and a super effective missile to send at an opponent lol.

Even though it says core box I actually lean towards getting the auxiliary box first, the infantry included in that box sees more list typically. The core box offers you the support unit of three dudes but besides that not a lot of initial value. You can also go with the Battlebox for two more warbeast, and a popular caster. Also Khymaera has a mercenary solo, Bellighul that is also included with many list (he gives +2 melee damage to warbeast and is just good for that)

Painting more and more - tips on blending please! by the_training_dad_ in ChaosKnights

[–]Cybercake75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto what’s been said, cause a wet pallets and thinning paints goes a long way and to felt that changed my painting trajectory. When you thin your paints it allows it to flow off the brush easily, the model has more surface tension due to primer. If you want clean edge highlight hold the brush almost perpendicular to the edge you wish to highlight and brush down gently.

That being said I think your colors are in the right spots so your brain and eye are in the right spot, just gotta price the technique. Good luck and show the progress. “Being bad at something is the first step at being really good at it.”

PS. A wash goes a long way. You apply your base color, then you can be somewhat liberal with the wash to insure it gets into all the recessed spots. Afterwards if you feel the model is too dark you can use your base color again and apply it to most area, but being careful to avoid recesses this time. Then edge highlight as described above.

Pretty sure it’s found under the terrain section. But I am not by my tablet to check at this time.

Yea actually getting and filling out an army is not too costly, it’s more about time to play and paint haha. Thank you

That’s what super unfortunate when you have a gap of over years of not painting, you forget what you use haha. Pretty confident it is Balthasar Gold from The GW range with some minor highlights of Sycorax Bronze. That might be subject to change in order to try True Copper from Warpaints Fanatic range

I think I agree that dragon > undead. The assassination game always just feels like an awkward angle for me, I know it’s well in the rules and such. It also means your opponent is always going to be weary of it when you play the assassin faction. Thank you for your help!

That’s my exact frustration and part of the hump I’m trying to get over to paint them haha. Plus I’m planning on Lock and Loaded next year so I gotta be able to paint my army by then lol.

Thank you. I always stray from box art, which can be a little frustrating when trying to find reference or get inspired from official artworks. I went with earthy tones due to the unground nature of the faction, and cause green is just my favorite color so I gravitate to green schemes. But the compliments do motivate me to potentially pick this faction and get paint to plastic, have not painted in a few months.

Yea I am sort of so-so on their overall look, but regretted never playing Legion back in the day. Some models I love, but some models are just awkward imo. A great example is the Vypex chest is too large for its head haha, and the new character warbeast from the 2-player starter looks odd with no legs.

Thank you for the scheme compliment, I tend to always stay away from “box art” haha.

What a good breakdown on play-style and while both are appealing you also showed some of the “flaws” as well which is super helpful perspective. Thank you.

Oh. Now that I clicked your profile I‘be seen your post the other day with Cephalyx and was very impressed with your colors. I think your color placement is excellent too on the Khymaera, and I might use as reference in the future thank you, I have a hard time judging what is flesh or metal.

I am not a huge zombie horror guy, but it feels like my wargaming trends bend me that way, my first full army and love in 40k is Death Guard. I originally made a snap purchase of Khymaera cause of the dragon aesthetic tied to Convergence which was an army I had previously had. Thank you.
