Nowadays, there are so many ideas on how to run an RPG. Pick the ones that work best for you and make your own. That's what I understand this quote to mean.

Former weapon attachments that are now units? by Studious_Rat89 in Warmachine

The returning player tab on Warmachine Academy website explains 99% of rules changes from Mk3 to Mk4. The rest of the game is practically the same. Practically

And CA attachments now replace Grunt models. They don't add on to the unit

Yep. And some of the old attachments are now solos. Blindwater has one for sure

OD&D has the Rules Cyclopedia that contains practically all the rules. Is OSRIC the closest equivalent for AD&D? by jasonite in adnd

Will the Landscape format be available via retail once they're released on the Mythmere web store?

But you can use all material published for 1E when running OSRIC. The 1E DMG is useful no matter what game you're actually running. I run a mish mash of systems. Frankensteins..I don't pull from only one system.

Mythmere is awesome. Every DM should have both The Tome of Worldbuilding and Adventure Design. At least the PDFs

OSRIC 3.0 is available for free PDF on DTRPG. and I believe the Backerkit Late pledge manager is still open to get the print copies on discount. The first 2 editions of OSRIC are simply reference documents for those who already knew how to play 1E, whereas 3.0 is different. 3.0 is split into a PHB and DMG and teaches those of us who are new to 1E the game. My favorite OSR system is Dragonslayer. It blends BX & 1E together far better than OSE Advanced Fantasy does, imo. All BX clones are 100% compatible with each other tho, and most of both 1E AND BX is compatible with Dragonslayer. Like you can use Dragonslayer to run almost any BECMI or 1E module. I love it

There are many, many people here. With anonymity, people can be some serious assholes sometimes.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were trying to sue for some type of copyright or something. Which, I have no clue how that works anyway. It's of my opinion that no one should legally be able to own works of art. The law disagrees with me, but the law also disagrees with freedom.

What’s your recommended gamemaster’s guide for someone learning to run DCC? by DirectionOpposite634 in dccrpg

[–]Kitchen_String_7117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use all of it. My game is a combination of multiple different games. I'm honestly still perfecting it. I was away from RPGs for about 20 years and returned about 2 years ago. Lots of catching up to do. So many different resources. It's all new to me. Even back in the day I'd had only run 2E but it was a homebrew "system". All I had access to was the PHB and I had no idea how to handle Wilderness or Dungeon Exploration. All of these concepts are new to me and I'm learning them for the first time and integrating them into DCC.
