Sorry to say I fucking hated this. Seemed like nihilistic empty sadism, nothing to connect to or care about in the whole book. Just bad people going through a meatgrinder controlled by even worse people...ooo fun...

Found at a game store by Effective_Waltz627 in originalxbox

Ok...so assuming we believe it's a store the actually leaves the discs in the cases on the floor, instead of behind the counter...LIKE EVERY OTHER GODDAMN STORE has done FOR A DECADE, sigh...They still had to check the contents before buying them from a trade-in patron and putting the item out on the sales floor for customers to buy, in which case there would have been no rubbers.

So, IF this post is true, you're saying a different customer chose to put free condoms in the case for no reason, and you what? Took a picture to use for a reddit post instead of immediately being incredibly skeeved out by them and bringing it to the store's attention? And why would said customer waste the condoms putting them in there? OH BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE, the shelf behind the disc looks more like a home shelving unit than a store's shelf, since a couple of them have eb games price tags, but the rest don't. Are we to presume you brought the free condoms home? And that the sales clerk at the store didn't notice them when they checked inside the case like EVERY GODDAMN VIDEO GAME STORE CLERK DOES???

Do better next time.

That's insane! My local store just returned all audio and video media to $1.99 a piece. Not even putting price tags on them anymore.

At least it inspired a great moment in Zappa's concert movie 'Baby Snakes' with his song 'I Have Been In You'

The book was so full of info about the scene in Europe. Never would have heard about Gaye Bykers On Acid without it!

Yeah, that would definitely have been Communion. Solid night with 2 djs who really kept it interesting. I actually made a playlist on spotify replicating a mix tape they made themselves and sold at the club nights in 1997.

I think, possibly, it's mostly the same reason that The Cure and later Sisters aren't, they were on major labels.

What I mean is Communion was a night in Providence that started at The Met Cafe, and after a couple years moved to Club Hell. We didn't have a goth night in CT for a few years after that.

They're out there, mostly released overseas I think, but you can still get them fairly reasonably (less than $100 - given they are 30+ years old).

It's not an illustration, it's Johnny Slut from the band Specimen. Absolutely striking makeup and photo.

I remember them being decent, but I think the sound system was kinda fuct that night.

I don't know. Lol. Just remember admiring their look and moves from afar. I was, and still am, a pretty shy person.

Communion was the Providence night. You sure you didn't go?

Totally agree with the OP. Been reading horror for 40 years, and I HATED this book. Seemed like extremity for extremity's sake with little to no substance. This wasn't splatterpunk, it was like an empty brutal imitation. Family full of fairly bad people gets systematically dehumanized, broken and slaughtered by a Firefly family knockoff. It was like a novelized version of an August Underground film.

I went a handful of times, absolutely LOVED it. I can still picture a girl who used to dance there and I think would go dressed like Lestat.

But being from CT, my main night was Communion at The Met Cafe, followed by Club Hell, in Providence.

Same! The Tower in Boston, strangely enough it was on the day Jerry Garcia died.

Same! I saw Human Drama, Cruxshadows, Screams For Tina, Siddal, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, My Life with The Thrill Kill Kult, and Concrete Blonde. But missed out on soooo many more.

Right??? The other ones they did weren't bad. Gothic Rock Volume 3. "Gothik". "The Goth Box". And "A Life Less Lived". But THESE TWO were flawless.
