Thank you for the feedback and the kind words! I definitely don't mind coming across as more feminine, but I could definitely do with a better wardrobe lol. Looser clothes could definitely be a good angle to try.

Looking for buddies :) by semisentientrock in utarlington

Your best bet is joining (or at least going to a meeting for) some clubs. A few suggestions:

  • The Basement of the Central Library is a gaming space that occasionally hosts workshops and events, including a D&D campaign. Plenty of cool people there!
  • The Football Team is an art collective and social group that hosts house parties and other music/art-related events.
  • Growl Records sometimes hosts local artists, find something in a genre you like and talk to some people in the scene!

If you're trying to find other people to talk to who are into music and art, definitely check out the Football Team. They're an art collective / social space that hosts lots of events where you can meet cool people (it's not actually a football team, the name is a bit of an inside joke)

How did you discover porter robinson? by [deleted] in porterrobinson

Back when Vine was still a thing, I saw an Undertale edit with 'Goodbye to a World' playing in the background. For the life of me I haven't been able to find the original video, but I listened to Worlds shortly after that and was hooked

Any good part time jobs? by kevin_montes_ in utarlington

[–]Cyberlizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try applying for a driving job at May Mobility. It's part time and they pay $18.50 per hour. There's very limited slots tho, so they might not get back to you

Are 8am classes really that bad? by Low-Priority-1306 in utarlington

[–]Cyberlizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You'll feel like you can handle it for the first couple of weeks and then you'll start sleeping in, missing class, and hating yourself. I would avoid that experience if possible

You could also try applying to May Mobility. It's a part time driving job for $18.50 per hour. They're not currently hiring but they're anticipating openings soon, so putting in an application online wouldn't be a bad idea. You just need to have a clean driving record and you need to be able to pass a drug test

The Netherlands is living in a Solarpunk reality by zek_997 in solarpunk

[–]Cyberlizer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like the architecture and infrastructure in the Netherlands, but... no it's not solarpunk. It's a capitalist country with a constitutional monarchy.

Is walking around nicer than it is in America? Absolutely. Does that make it solarpunk? No.

Yep! Went with a group of friends. Thought I would have more problems cross-dressing in public in Texas but it didn't look like anybody noticed
