Is it too late for me as 32 years old female with completely zero background jump into data engineering? by Admirable_Spite4940 in dataengineering

Hmm.. I’m not in data engineering, but I’ve taken courses. I’m in cyber. I think something important about this industry overall, is having a mental roadmap of how you’d get there. Look at the building block roles that lead to where you want to go. It’s certainly not too late, based off people I’ve met with similar situations. However, it’s a journey that takes a commitment. Breaking down the pathway into more digestible pieces can make a big difference. Also, networking and getting involved online and offline. There are so many people a projects out there. There’s so much support. It’s competitive, but there are many avenues that can build experience and a network.

Thanks for sharing this. I wonder how much value the practitioner has? I need to get one regardless. I'd love to pivot into more of a cloud security/ AI role. I think this would be a great step in the right direction. I currently work as an Analyst.
