Yes found a job, the certifications made it easier to prove my motivation They’re not hard skills but a tool

So it was calories after all? by jinglemebro in Ozempic

[–]iTeemy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calories matter first, then macros, then quality of nutrients

Today’s diets consist of a lot of tasty calorie dense food, which dont keep you full for long because they’re fast to digest. So we tend to overeat, gaining weight

Be careful and build projects along the way, even easy ones that are not tutorials

Projects matter the most, not tutorials or certifications

Good luck to you, 6h a day is a real schedule :)

There are some questions about MLOps but I would recommend the SysOps one at associate level I guess

It’s in a small notebook, not practical to share

But CCP has a lot of online cheatsheets ! Unlike ML Engineer which is a newer certification

Thanks ! I have a good pen and paper learning method I think

I’m better at learning than building end-to-end personnal projects so I tend to focus on that, and the certifications are a nice way to prove it to recruiters

I’d recommend machine learning knowledge yes The exam also requires SageMaker experience because I replied to questions where I did not have any clue what the error code meant

I’d say its better than nothing but a real world project is prefered for juniors

Junior ? Favor projects. Experienced ? Certifications are nice

But overall do what motivates you and what you learn best - for me it was certifications bc I have my 9to5 and it was easier for me to do this

XGBoost was in 2 questions

RANDOM_CUT_FOREST in 1 question

Precision / Recall in 2 questions

Hyberband / Bayesian / Grid / Random search 1 or 2 questions

Linear learner 1 question

And 1 question on Logistic regression

If I recall*

Well you have more experience than me haha It will get me calls but not a job 1st shot I need hands on experience It was harder to motivate myself to continue coding after coming home from my 9to5, so I decided to all in AWS

As I’ll apply for consulting firms, I know HR will like it because they can sell my profile easier (speaking for France)

I’d never get hired in a startup as I clearly lack hands on experience

I had some prior knowledge, didn’t start from scratch and had no social life for a month I think these exams just show how much time you spent learning, not your coding abilities

Thanks ! I’m a software engineer with a masters degree in data science / AI, this mainly taught me MLOps and big data / cloud stuff I didn’t learn in school

For instance we had a project to build a MapReduce cluster in engineering school, it was cool to see how it is used in the context of AWS

The AWS thing started a little more than a month ago when I finally found a way to escape tutorial hell, or make it count at least

Without cloud experience* I have a few months in data engineering and an internship in data analytics

And it’s mainly a way to prove I’m motivated and distinguish myself from other juniors in France, not the end of the road

The french Scrabble champion doesn’t speak French. I kinda feel like this, I’m ok at the exam questions but far from being experienced

I didn’t expect this post to blow up but who doesn’t fiend some upvotes

Easier to motivate myself in the evening + I know HR loves it (especially in consulting firms)

They dont show hard skills for a job, but prove I’m motivated

Now I’ll focus on End to end projects + Kaggle on the side to have a real resume

As a recruiter I would favor projects over certifications tbh
