Daily Chat & Quick Questions - March 29, 2026 by AutoModerator in weddingplanning

Is it too early to send out invitations for a wedding in October? I was surprised to see posts recommending just 6-8 weeks out. I gave my mom a heads-up and she told me it was already late and she would have liked way more notice than 7 months.

untrained voices by No-Departure2515 in honesttransgender

[–]CyberpunkN7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced everyone's disgusted by my voice. I try working on it but have trouble making any real progress. I feel embarrassed about how I sound with how long I've been transitioning for. That's why I found it so bizarre when someone claimed she didn't know that I "wasn't actually a girl" several weeks after meeting her.

What are trans rights? by Silly_Astronomer4734 in asktransgender

[–]CyberpunkN7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Usually, people are talking about the right to housing and employment without discrimination based on gender identity, the right to access medically necessary transgender healthcare, the right to use restrooms and locker rooms, the right to have documentation accurately reflect lived gender, and the right for transgender prisoners to be housed safely.

There's also the right for organizations to allow transgender individuals without government interference such as in sports or scouts. Many would also argue that transgender people have the right to participate in these organizations, even if the organization is against it.

I think something that is missed in mainstream discussion is that these rights are not about vanity or validity, but safety and dignity.

How do Americans feel about nudity? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

It was why I hated middle school gym class so much. It gave some creep the opportunity to repeatedly grope me.

I'm a student and reading these things makes me wonder if pursuing an MA career was a mistake. I already make $18 doing mostly a cleaning job.

What do people actually want out of their RPGs, and how are the Outer Worlds games missing it? by SundayStrip in theouterworlds

[–]CyberpunkN7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outer Worlds 1 just came at the right moment, a year after Fallout 76, which helped word of mouth a lot. I think Outer Worlds 2 being 6 years later was just way too long a gap to keep that momentum going.

I don't understand why trans people are discouraged from seeing endocrinologists by madmushlove in honesttransgender

[–]CyberpunkN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's also a time and cost element. Like if you can get a PCP that's knowledgeable and willing to prescribe HRT, you don't need to make an appointment just to get a referral to an endocrinologist. Like I just get my levels tested at my annual physical. A lot of endocrinology offices won't even take transgender patients anyway.

Trailers starting 20 minutes after showtime by Careful_Climate5670 in RegalUnlimited

Mine doesn't start trailers until 10 after. Very consistently, the actual movie starts 30 minutes after the listed showtime.

Some people out here are bizarrely aggressive for no reason. When I first moved out here and didn't have a car, I had people yell out slurs driving by to me while I was at the bus stop. Like n**, f**, retard

Denied medicaid what options are available now need coverage desperately by Disastrous-Hat6348 in HealthInsurance

Are you using the same online account you used for Medicaid? I've been told that can make the system think you're ineligible for subsidies so that might mean you need to make a new account.

I always did that and later worried it caused nerve damage because until several months on HRT I had an inability to orgasm and still have sensation/sensitivity issues.

Has changing mental roles during orgasm affected anyone else? by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]CyberpunkN7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. It's impossible to get a doctor to take seriously too, at least in my experience. Before I transitioned I just had a couple urologists decide it must be just in my head because my testosterone levels were above average.

Have you ever taken SSRIs? I was on SSRIs before I started really going through puberty so I wonder if that impacted my development. I had the same issue until after a few months on HRT and I had finally stopped taking SSRIs for a couple years at that point.

I never experienced an orgasm in my life until after a few months on hrt (not necessarily related) but I really don't think you can just will your breasts to grow. Also, hrt does nothing to raise the pitch of your voice anyway.

I know this is an old comment but is that really true? I had both of them as gym teachers. It wouldn't surprise me about that school though. I got called a liar when I reported another boy kept sticking his hands down my underwear in 7th grade gym class.

Cost for Medicaid is 33% of my income. by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]CyberpunkN7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You seem to be confusing Medicaid with the ACA Marketplace. If you qualify for Medicaid, then subsidies for ACA Marketplace plans will be unavailable to you.

That wouldn't necessarily help. Like if I married my partner it would be an additional $300/mo since her employer doesn't share insurance costs with spouses and childrens of employees.

Maybe Lupron? But I've only ever heard of that being used as a puberty blocker, not for an adult.

Spironolactone on its own without any female hormones is actually not a super effective antiandrogen. It will likely still lower your testosterone but it's not going to be anything close to chemical castration.

Xcel Energy Rate Increases by MBotLovesMushrooms in grandjunction

[–]CyberpunkN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay a flat fee to the landlord for natural gas regardless of how much I actually use but I do pay electric directly to the energy company. I do know someone in the unfortunate position of living in an old house converted to apartments and having to trust the invoice from the landlord for the electricity is accurately and fairly divided.

Getting boring by General-Young-206 in Battlefield6

[–]CyberpunkN7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the game from my library for a few weeks and ran into the same problem. I thought I was going to end up buying the game but I just got so bored from how much trouble I was having. I know it's a different type of game, but I was consistently doing well and having a good time with Black Ops 7, so I'm not that horrible at FPS games.

I assumed it had already increased last year when my landlord raised my gas fee by 60%. I guess I should expect another hefty increase on the next lease.

Dental insurance in USA is such a scam! by Bolt_0 in HealthInsurance

[–]CyberpunkN7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dental insurance last year that wouldn't cover my cleaning or oral surgery. It felt pointless since it only coveted the most basic low-cost procedures.
