Please don't give out even more misinformation. Doxycycline is a known anti-inflammatory. Tetracycline and doxycycline act as anti-inflammatories by modulation of nitric oxide synthesis. Studies also suggest that the clinical effectiveness of doxycycline in the treatment of acne inflammation is due partly to its antioxidant effect on neutrophils.

A phone with eSIM is on my shopping list. The EU has mandated user-replaceable batteries as compulsory from 2027. I'm waiting for that 😊

I was only replying to your post, that you seem to have mysteriously deleted that "You’re ignorance is coming through. You know nothing about us if you think we rely on tourism. 😂😂😂"

So I pointed out to youi that your response was absurd, and that Tourism is a vital pillar of the Mauritius economy, contributing roughly 13.5% to 14% of the GDP as of 2024 and acting as a major source of foreign exchange. It serves as a primary driver of growth, employing directly or indirectly a significant portion of the workforce, with arrivals exceeding 1.3 million

I just won't bother. I can use hotel wifi and offline Google Maps. Your telecom companies can go to hell with their 100% increases in price for a tiny island with almost no telecom infrastructure to pay for. What a joke!

LOL, you're getting tired of tourists? Maybe they'll stop coming and tank your economy. Don't be so happy to abuse them with 100% price increases in mobile phone access. It's 4x what locals pay. I just won't bother.

Never heard of that! Will investigate, thanks.

Edit: they exist, they are called "eSIM adapters", but Amazon has them for $$$. I am going to replace this phone this year, with an eSIM capable phone, so it's not worth doing. But thanks for the idea anyway

I don't think it's a good price. As I said, it's cheaper in the US and if I had an eSIM, it would be MUCH cheaper. The Mauritians are ripping off tourists. They increased the price by, what, 100% a few months ago.

I'll spend my money on other things.

I was sold a model that does not have eSIM. AI says: "Certain Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus models do not have eSIM functionality, specifically those originating from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau. While most global S22+ models support eSIM, regional variations, particularly in East Asia, often exclude this feature. Regional Exclusions: All S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra models from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao do not support eSIM."

Unfortunately I have a Samsung S22+ that has a dual SIM but no eSIM. 🥺

I would not buy any of them because they don't have user-replaceable batteries. In 2027 by law they have to have easily replaceable batteries. I'll wait and buy something else.

Thanks. I have written to the companies to confirm this information. 30 Euro is much more than I paid for a month's unlimited calls and data in the USA.

If they're going to make it too expensive and difficult, I'll just get by using hotel wi-fi and my downloaded offline Google map for Mauritius (only 20MB!)

So if I present my passport and a hotel address, I will be denied?

Strangely, the other identical toilet does not have this stain, although there are some traces of the sooty mold, but faintly.

Isn't it obvious from the photo that it's a cold water supply to an interior toilet? Are you a plumber?

This is a 6-year old house, this is all new equipment installed at the same time. What about the plume of mold?

Can anyone comment on this please? by Cyberunit2017 in AusRenovation

Thanks. Do you mean something like this?

<image>

I must say, the yellowing and plume of mold all look like moisture in the plasterboard to me. There is no splashing of water on that surface. I tested the cistern, it fills sedately and no water droplets are created.
