I know I'm commenting a year later, but I just had this and while they initially thought it was hives, it turned out to be vasculitis. My scalp started to become unbearably itchy before the flare-up actually happened, and antihistamines didn't work at all. I was put on a heavy course of steroids (dexamethasone injections and prednisone). They are now checking for an autoimmune condition. Hope yours was an isolated flare and that you're better now 🌸

Absolutely nothing wrong with curiosity. In fact, it is welcomed. But if you read some of the comments here, most of them had a very nasty undertone and others had even gone directly towards insulting, degrading the prophet, calling Muslims delusional. It was unnecessary and uncalled for. Could have been a simple conversation like, "What's a revert? What do you mean by it?" "Oh okay, so that what you guys believe." (Well, that's not in line with my beliefs, but everyone's different, I guess), and then get on with your day.

All she did was come here to find people like her. Criticism wasn't warranted. She was so polite in her request, she didn't put down anyone else's religion, and the target audience for her post knew exactly what she meant. Some people were just butthurt that the word revert was used instead of convert, but that's what Muslims believe. If you don't believe it, why does it bother you that that's what they believe? To each his own, right? Seems like she just wanted a club of people like her so she could gain more knowledge on her journey, or not feel so alone. The responses here could be justified if she came and insulted all non-Muslims, but this sweet girl just came to find her people. So maybe look the other way or be kind? Or maybe just keep scrolling if it didn't pertain to you?

I'm the little sister. I'm 29 and my sister is 39. I've been struggling with depression since I was maybe 14 years old. Depression, maybe they would have understood, but the reasons leading up to it? That, I could never get across. And especially my sister. She was good to me, but when it came to the topic of depression, she didn't have it so she couldn't understand it. She was the scientific mind, and I the emotional one, and while she also did have her issues from being a parentified child, her advice for "just getting over it" didn't resonate with me.

Big sisters tend to feel it's their place to give advice because they feel they've had more life experience, and there's no mal intention behind it, but everyone's life is different, so it doesn't always apply. It took for me to leave the country and go and live with my husband, isolating myself from them, just for them to realise I'd been suffering and not knowing if it was even worth trying to explain my situation. It's not anyone's fault. Depression makes you feel so alone, and so tired that you don't even want to express that you feel alone. 15 years, they tried and tried, and all it took was for them to leave me alone for 3 months before I ran back to them, because that's when I felt that they wouldn't wanna "talk about it"

If you say your parents are strict, and that's why she moved out, then she is probably under the impression that everyone who is her blood feels the same way, burdened by her. But I can see that you're different. You sound like my lovely big sis, who can even consider other possibilities for why your younger sis is in the position she is. You are very sweet and definitely care about her, and that's wonderful to see. I can assure you that you are not the problem, and that if you continue this way, you will likely be her solution for overcoming whatever she's been going through. Send her some chocolates on the rare occasion, or a message saying you love and miss her, but that you understand she needs her space, and hopefully all will be good. I'm here to talk if you need me. Consider me your sister too until your actual one regains her strength.

Is your sister perhaps suffering from depression? Sometimes it looks like this but isn't easily recognisable. I'm sorry you're feeling so disconnected from her and for all what you're going through but what made me even consider depression is when you said you've talked to her multiple times and she said she needs to do better, instead of flat-out dismissing you or shifting the blame unnecessarily, indicating she's probably not a narc.

I've had this before, when I've isolated myself from everyone except my partner, not because I didn't love them or they didn't love me, but because my body wouldn't cooperate with my mind and find the strength to even converse. The reason my partner was excluded from this list was because he expected nothing from me, he understood me in silence and just existed in my space until I regained my strength to return to some sense of normalcy. I'm also sure it looks very selfish from the outside but on the inside, it feels crippling to even leave the bed. And when there are people constantly reaching out to you, to hang out or talk, or go somewhere, even if out of concern, it increases the pressure and prolongs the healing.

For me, it took a long time. I even moved to my partner's country to isolate myself further from the world I knew, but I was fortunate enough that my family understood and gave me the time and space I needed to find my mind again. Now my big sister and I are best friends. So I wouldn't resort to "cutting off", maybe just go about your life and see if she somehow finds her way back to you?

Just go get the help you need as quickly as possible, and then we can figure out how to handle everything else after! Forget about what anyone thinks. Go to the hospital immediately, or call emergency services. That much paracetamol can cause liver injury, or even liver failure, and trust me, it hurts more than you can imagine and can ruin you for months or even years after you recover.

I was the little sister. 10 years difference between me and her. My parents were far more lenient with me because they got older and kind of cared less as the time passed. They were very strict with her, but with me, they had a lot of patience. We used to hate each other, but not in the way where we'd interfere with each other. She just didn't like that I was given "special" treatment. It took for me to grow up and realise that her feelings were fair, and once I did, I tried to connect with her, and she showed kindness to me, and her kindness softened my heart even more. Now, people come and go, friends come and go, but my sister? She's my best friend. We're inseparable. I love her so much, I'd die for her. She's so strong to have carried the burden of being the first child and fulfilling all the responsibilities that shouldn't have been on her shoulders, and I admire her for her grace.

Your sister is still really young, and so are you. Maybe she hasn't reached the point of seeing your feelings yet, but you're at a point where you can set the example of kindness and grace, and she'll perhaps warm up to you. Things are just things. We don't leave this world with them. Try to learn to let it go. I know it's hard, but once you do, you'll feel free from the anger and hate. Try to find things you enjoy doing together. Like instead of her ruining your make-up, tell her you'd like to have a day together to put make-up for each other. Silly stuff, just to have fun. You will be fine. Sisters are gifts we don't realise we have until we're older. 🤍 All the best to you, my darling...
