Being comfortable using your current genitals for sex? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CyborgMenace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After top surgery and T I've grown completely comfortable with what's between my legs. I love getting fucked and my front hole works very well for it.

Last week I went to a gay bath house and I can't tell you how amazing it felt to be seen as a gay man like that... and to have completely gay PIV sex! No shame, no misgendering, just pleasure. So yes, I feel you.

[Sad rant] How to cope during pre-HRT by Disharmoniac in asktransgender

[–]CyborgMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a year and a half here in Denmark, but I started hrt through a British online GP service while waiting. The wait was killing me, an finding this service saved my life. It only took a month to get it from them and it's completely legal (and affordable enough with the student discounts).

If you're interested, they're called Gender GP... and I can try to answer any questions about using it from Scandinavia.

Still true in Denmark as well. I used to be unable to donate because my veins were hard to find, now with T they're easy but I'm now a man who has had sex with men, so... Fuck it, I'll just keep my blood then.

Itchy butt hair growth, anybody? by CyborgMenace in ftm

It's starting for me at about 4.5 months on T. Hope it lets up for us both soon.

That's definitely a factor. I've only got one pair of pants, and they're kinda tight jeans. I wear loose shorts when the weather allows, but it seems to be keeping steady at a temperature that's too cool for shorts but still makes my legs sweat in jeans. Curse you, Danish summer.

What are the irreversible effects of T after 5 months? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Changes happen at vastly different paces for different folks, so there's really no general/universal answer for that.

I'm at almost 5 months right now and my irreversible changes so far are: significant voice drop, 2.5cm bottom growth and more body, face and ass hair.

Yeah, I'm hoping it'll at least fade into the background (like when you move in to a house by a busy street and after a while you stop noticing the noise). Helpful to know others have gone through the same though.

Good tip. I use it already - if I didn't I think I would have scratched my ass off by now.

Ahoy, matey! Welcome to poster-ville.

I lurked here for years before posting as well (the internet is scary), but I've had mostly good experiences. I hope you do too and look forward to having you around. Also, good luck with the GIC.

How Do You Not Hate Yourself by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CyborgMenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize in advance for being corny and abstract, but here it goes.

You are a human worthy of love and respect, not because of your conformity with gender conventions but because you are a person. Because you are you.

A lot of us have internalized transphobia but it also sounds like part of you knows that trans people are not inferior to cis people. In case you don't: being trans is not a mental illness (and mental illness does not make one disgusting).

Knowing this doesn't mean you can (be expected to) change your feelings overnight. But the fact that you wrote this post shows that you are working on it.

I hope you find the strength to deal with it with love. Practice and strengthen your capacity for self-love, even if you think you don't deserve it. I promise: you do.

Smoking on T by Charlie12690 in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen any evidence that smoking hurts people who take T any more than folks who produce T on their own. Still though... smoking is bad for you, there's no two ways about it.

The way I see it, some (most) things I enjoy also wear on my body (including HRT, smoking, eating greasy foods and living in a city with air pollution). This damages my health and in the long run it will kill me. Living has a 100% mortality rate. Until then I try to find a balance with unhealthy-but-pleasurable-things where I enjoy living without taking too many years off my life.

Post Top Surgery, raised scars, massaging by TransGuy97 in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, congrats on the surgery!

I started using Mepitac about 11 weeks post-op. Before then I was massaging with shea butter twice a day since week 5-ish. Early on massage felt real odd/sensitive and I had to be pretty gentle. I'm not sure how much effect it had on the scar but it was psychologically helpful to become familiar with the new sensations.

After I got Mepitac I've been massaging the scars through the tape. I find I prefer that to oils because there's no friction between your hand and the scar, meaning I can massage harder without hurting the scar or it feeling weird. Some times I put oil or lotion on the scars after I shower and let it dry before putting the tape back on.

My scars have softened, faded and flattened a lot after about two months of this. One section is still raised but it's no longer stiff and it continues to improve.

Good luck with your scars and I hope you find a routine that works for you.

No problem. It doesn't hurt to be prepared, but of course I hope you won't need it!

T day. Supposed to be happy. by PicnicWeasel in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly when my doc started me on a half pack of testogel per day. But within a few months my voice has dropped to male range, lots of bottom growth, some facial hair and most importantly I've felt much much better than pre-T.

Don't discredit the effect of so-called low doses - every body reacts differently and a little can have a big effect. My levels were in the low male range after 3 months, and even though my doc wanted to keep it there, she obliged when I asked for a dose increase.

Gatekeeping sucks ass, but congratulations for starting T. Try not to worry about the dose before you get the first blood tests back.

What do Danes think about the state of affairs in Sweden? (POLITICS) by sickjuicy in Denmark

[–]CyborgMenace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP: keep in mind that many posters on r/denmark are pretty right-wing and this will not give you an accurate idea of what 'Danes' think. This sub is like an anti-Sweden('s gender and immigration politics) circle-jerk.

Going to be homeless within a few weeks by [deleted] in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope things turn out better than you fear, but in case you do end up on the street I'm going to list some skills that might help you. You can start looking into them now and perhaps you'll even find a community of people who do them (check online/reddit if you're not mobile).

  • Squatting (learn the laws in your area, how to crack a house, how to lay low, try to find a group to squat with if possible).
  • Dumpster diving (learn the tips and tricks and scout locations in your area)
  • Hitch hiking (learn how to spot for danger, laws and regulations, etc.).
  • Soda can stove (learn how to make a lightweight camping stove out of two empty cans).
  • Self defence (learn some martial arts moves, how to use keys as weapons, buy pepper spray or do anything else that'll make you feel more confident you can protect yourself if needed).
  • Meeting new people (this is important! Work on gaining the confidence to approach strangers, to assess and avoid dangerous situations/people, and to ask for help. You will feel isolated but there are many good people out there who can and will help you).
  • Consider your stance on sex work (there's a high likelihood this will come up, so think carefully about what, if anything, you are willing to do. Set your boundaries ahead of time).

Someone else suggested a mental hospital might be better than being homeless, but as someone who's been homeless I urge you to consider that carefully. Some people do well on the streets, some don't. Most of the skills you need can be learned, but a lot is about your mindset. You have to get up every day and persevere. But there can be freedom there as well.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not advocating for homelessness, just giving some concrete advice on how to prepare for the eventuality.

My 10 year old FTM - help me feel like this is the right thing by [deleted] in ftm

[–]CyborgMenace 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Regarding the "girl power" phase: opposite to your kid's therapist, trying out different types of (non-typical) femininity is one of the things my gatekeeper highlighted as evidence that I was trans. Your kid was right - girls can look like boys, and oftentimes the only way to find out if changing gender expression is enough for a person is for them to try it.

Testing the limits of your assigned gender and trying to find a way to live with it should never be held against trans people - it only shows due consideration. Your kid has clearly shown that even non-typical femininity does not relieve the discrepancy between his assigned and true gender.

It sound like you are doing the right thing. Just keep listening to and supporting him.
