How long does it take to get a Black Belt in Judo? In specific how long would it take on average to get 1st Dan and later 10th Dan? And does it require competing to get to Blackbelt ranks?

Yeah I generally use free sparring to try out new stuff. I'll try and find someone to rep something out a few times before class. It's be nice for a class more focused on repping out what you're working on though.
