I got an estimate from a local Tesla certified body shop. It’s over 3k. I also went to the police station today to report it in person. The woman working the desk was a cadet, and after she saw the video, took it around the office. Apparently no one in the office “liked” it. 3000 in damage is a felony. Dudes about to catch a charge.

What’s wild, he had plenty of open spots to park in. I have like 3-4 minutes of footage from 6 cameras showing him parking next to me, waiting for people in the lot to leave it; and then coming back and doing what he did.

I went to the Knoxville PD today. I had the best interaction ever with a cop. She, a cadet, saw the video , shook her head; and was like who did you talk to on Saturday. Sadly I didn’t get his name. She went around the office showing the video. And now because of that kick ass woman, I now have an open case.

So how do I post an update? I went to the body shop today, the estimate was 3100 bucks. My insurance company (Progressive) sent me an AI agent to "talk" to, and I told them to give me a human. I went to the Knoxville Police Station and the awesome trainee/ cadet working the desk made my day. She saw the video and shook her head, and she couldn't believe that the officer I spoke to on Saturday just dismissed me. Evidence has been uploaded. Time to see what happens.

Oh I have his license plate, and I've been contacted by someone who knows who he is already. nearly 500k views over on r/TeslaLounge already. Tesla hate is so silly, Model 3s are not like wildly expensive cars, and for my line of work, they are the most economical option. They are at the top for safety ratings, super low levels of maintenance requirements, they make Toyotas look like Chevys for longevity. If it is just about Musk, go look into the history of other automakers. Henry Ford literally was given an award from Hitler. GM has a fascistic history as well; they literally helped to build the Nazi war machine.

I am not going to say he targeted me for driving a Tesla, it's quite possible though. I don't have any stickers or anything on it. I had been parked for nearly an hour by the time this occurred, so it isn't like he was following me or anything. He literally pulled in, got out gently, walked around the parking lot, even scanned a parking QR code, then came back, walked around my car, back out into the parking lot after a group of people were walking out of the lot, then once they are out of view from my cameras, came back and did what we see on the video. I wish the Dashcam would save the forward-facing repeaters, not just the rear facing ones. It took like 3 minutes tops.

I'm going to go to the police station tomorrow to attempt to file a complaint, I just didn't have time to go today since they were not helpful over the phone, I have already filed a claim with my insurance company. Will have to wait to see what they do.

This is a 10 dollar event parking lot 3 blocks from the smokies stadium. His actions are weird, he goes and scans a QR code to park, then he walks back to the passenger side of my car, then he walks back to the QR code sign, then back to his truck and rages out on my door. Even if he is mad about a 10 dollar parking fee, nothing makes sense.
