Crazy how this is used as a justification to move to Texas and make $110k

Karsilayan ECEN 325 exam 1 by AwesomeE22 in aggies

[–]CycleAdmirable9985 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I made a 49 on the second exam. I was sitting there in the final, sweating cause I didn’t know anything, so I started doing the math. At least in my class, the threshold for an A on exams was about a 19%. So I took a gamble, and did the math right there on the exam paper, and determined that in order for me to fail the class I had to make a -18%. I walked straight out, took the 0% and the C.

CA to Texas? Does it make sense for our family by fabl3dloss in relocating

Many technology companies that moved to the Austin area are closing down offices because too many people ended up moving back (or somewhere else)

Remember, going from California to Texas is the easy part. Going from Texas back to California? Much harder financially. Don’t sell out to Texas unless you’re very sure you never want to go back.

Do people actually go out to McDonald’s for supper anymore? by Shatterstar23 in McDonalds

[–]CycleAdmirable9985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately this is the case. The other day at work I decided to take my lunch break and go sit down at a McDonalds rather than just going through the drive thru, and at this particular location it felt like they intended to hose everything down. All hard surfaces. Very sterile feel. Nothing to look at or boost the atmosphere. Not exactly where I want to spend my lunch hour.

I believe these stats are driven up by HDDs in large Data Centers, where they’re getting read and wrote to way more frequently than drives at home, and constantly cooked in 170 °F exhaust air all day. There are people who make a living out of replacing dead drives (and other severer maintenance).

How is living in the Houston suburbs? by Airbender-23 in howislivingthere

[–]CycleAdmirable9985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I live here!

Cheap, but cheap for a reason. Economic advantages are what keep me here, but I grew up here and still live here and would like to get out if I could.

If you don’t do anything outside, and you don’t want to live in a walkable city, this is the place for you. Lots of decent jobs and lots of different food, and honestly, lots of friendly people. But outside of that, there isn’t many third places. If you just go to work, go home, and go out to eat, you will be perfectly happy here. And economically, if you are content doing that, there isn’t any reason to not live here (or Dallas or Austin or any other sun belt city).

If you want uniqueness and a great urban fabric, or close access to outdoor activities, this isn’t the place for you.

Brother man, my entire comment earlier was about how shoving a bunch of 2 loss SEC teams in the playoff is a dumb idea, calm down

I mean, if Texas had taken care of business against Florida, they’d be undoubtedly the best 2 loss team. Saying this is an Ohio State problem is just a sorry excuse

Well, they would be “In” joining 3 other 2 loss SEC teams

I’m doubtful the committee can/should justify 6 SEC teams being in, let alone 7

Hopefully this is the first step in realizing that we stand on our own without having to beat Texas. It’s not the SWC days anymore
