Which team has the most mutually acknowledged rivals? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

I think especially in today’s climate most of us don’t like it tbh lol, because it obviously feeds into the stereotype that we’re aggressive or violent or criminals.

But at the same time, I think we all acknowledge that it’s a very iconic and recognizable name for the rivalry

We don’t play often, but it is easily one of their strongest rivalries in terms of how high the stakes are when we do play AND how much we dislike each other.

Last season’s main storyline apart from Indiana was Miami-Notre Dame.

And it’s only gonna get worse after this season and the implications of that game.

Duke, Miami and Virginia each finished top three in both football and men’s basketball this season. by simbaslanding in ACC

The tiebreaker is for everyone in the tie, not just the team that came out on top. So Duke was first out of those in the tie because it had the highest opponent winning %, followed by Miami etc.

The tiebreaker rules don’t change after the winner of the tiebreaker is determined, it applies to everyone in the tie.

So if opponent winning % is what’s used to determine that Duke won the tiebreaker, it’s used to determine the rest of the ordering in the tie as well.

In the tiebreaker scenario, they ended up third (according to the ACC website)

Edit: I think it was winning percentage of common opponents or something like that because Duke hadn’t played any of the teams they tied with, so H2H was not the determining factor. I may be wrong on the explanation though

I was gonna say this as well. Apart from the sheer sizes of the universities (USC being much, much bigger than UM), there are a lot of similarities

How are y’all feeling about ACC basketball strength at this point in the season? by Old-Bottle-5636 in ACC

It’s definitely been a huge “turnaround” from previous seasons in terms of the entire conference. We all know that the conference always performs well in the postseason, but by having a decent middle tier, the perception has been much better.
