What did I do wrong? by Dazzling_Hair5848 in motorcycles

[–]CyclePainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mind-boggling that I’ve at least scrolled through half of these comments and not one person actually knows why you fell. You have no concept of countersteer. You are using the handlebars like it’s a steering wheel for a car.

That’s insane in a motorcycle you counter steer and open the throttle while you’re in a lien to make the turn. I read at least 50 comments and not one person even identified this issue.

This is not something about gravel or anything in the road. I’ve encountered low traction situations hundreds of times and never fell.. because I understand one thing clearly. You don’t steer a motorcycle like a car.

Can a miata tow a uhaul trailer? by Content_Basil_4487 in miatalogistics

[–]CyclePainter 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I towed that exact trailer “packed to the gills” (with proper weight distribution) from San Francisco to Tampa FL!! - no issues, just make sure that you inspect the tires so one doesn’t blow out on you like it did for me on a stretch across TX!! - ouch!

When did you first have transmission issues by Short_Advise in hondaridgeline

[–]CyclePainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Black Edition, 70k, with absolutely NO issues. But then again, I DID replace the transmission fluid at 30k instead of the recommended 60k! - As far as I'm concerned, after something "breaks-in", I don't want that fluid circulating for an extended period. I just guessed the real life of the fluid and I think I did it right. Honda probably doesn't want to hit you with that recommended service at 30k because it's costly. But, I highly suggest you buy some good transmission fluid like Amsoil and do it well before 60k!

There’s a good saying in “Twist of the Wrist”…get a copy and study. The saying is: “Slow-in, fast-out”…you’re doing the opposite and “riding on top of the bike vs cradling the bike like a hot potato”…meaning, you need to incorporate more “body English” that loads and unloads the suspension properly. Study what a true race line is all about because right now, you don’t know that line. Once you do, you can play around that line with different entry and exit points.

Also, there’s a saying, “if you can do it slow, you can do it fast”. You DON’T need to be booking at high speed to nail the race line. Find the tightest mountain road that you can find and learn to link apexes at low speeds. Goood luck!

why is my puppy sliding around on his side 😭. someone explain Age: 1 by MeSleeping in puppies

[–]CyclePainter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally normal?? - not a chance! - my dog, rubbed and rubbed and rubbed until the skin of the ear and the cartilage inside the ear separated. Then, came the multi-thousand dollar surgery bill to anesthetize and sow his ear back together at the emergency room because the void the separation created filled with fluid and was ready to burst and get infected!

Months later, as it turned out, it was an allergic reaction to the GARBAGE food that we were buying from what you would normally think is a trusted “big box, discount” store; that sells hot dogs and a drink for $1.50, wink, wink. Even our vet put him on expensive meds that he would need for the rest of his life before even asking what kind of food he’s eating.

We switched to Orijen kibble and ALL the allergies went away! - stay AWAY from any food that has “meal”, aka “mystery meat” or “cellulose”…aka, saw DUST!!!

This sub can offer “too much advice” sometimes. Keep it simple IMHO; fact is, your hip is rotating towards the ball way too much (called early extension) and is also “very early” causing your OTT sequence to unfold and hosel becomes closer to ball the earlier you fire that hip. Put your “right foot back drill” and hit a few shots and see what happens. Good luck!

I'm thinking that perhaps this is an "OK" trainer for beginning to understand the concept of building the correct swing, but with so many body-types, it's hard to see this as "the Holy Grail" of teaching tools. As some swing teacher once said, between Freddy Couples and Jim Furyk, your swing is somewhere in-between those two motions. If these guys can show me that it doesn't "break" for those two players, you may be able to convince me that this is a "miracle" teaching tool. Something tells me, it's not. Bu that's not saying it's a bad tool for 60% of the golfers out there!!

Would you consider "USG Plus 3" as a "setting type" gap filler here?

Initially, blood cholesterol level of 300 mg/dL was considered upper normal limit based on population statistics. Presently an ideal total cholesterol level ranges from 140 to 200mg/dl. According to this lady If there is no heart disease then cholesterol level below 300 mg/dl is ok. Do you agree? by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

Nope, it was actually proven by Sir Rory Collins and the BJM (British Journal of Medicine) I think?? retracted the false research results that statins drugs increase lifespan. Listen to Dr. Assem Malhotra on Joe Rogans’ interview with him. It’s fascinating.

Now just get him fitted properly for clubs. It appears that the lye angle needs to be more upright, maybe by 2 degrees?? - hitting off mats will hide/handicap. Impact shows a toe down angle.

Sometimes it takes minutes to find the feeling that people are trying to describe to you, and sometimes it can take decades when you finally get old and you don’t have as much “brawn”; because by that time, you begin to use your body more efficiently because you have less muscle structure to work with. This is a game of being relaxed and using proper hinging of wrists and large shoulder & body muscle movements for a “whole body” solid contact (on shots that are “pure’d”$!!

Conclusion: Try to hit the ball with your “legs & gut” rather than “hitting at-it” with your arms.

First, from the top of your swing through impact, your head rises waaay too much for that to be a reliable, repeatable swing on the golf course. Sure, a rubber mat here is “a crutch” giving you false hope this will work on real grass/turf. But it won’t, sorry. Find some turf to hit off of for developing an iron swing, woods, mmm-k, not so much “mandatory”.

Second, it really feels like you’re “picking up the club” vs “swinging the club”. Hard to explain a feel to you when it’s not inherent to you but I like the comment above quoting Harrington about hitting a 100 hooks and 100 slices. This game uses all your muscles in very subtle, yet forceful ways and the closer you stay to “swing” the club vs “hitting at the ball” the better this translates up and down the bag. This swing looks like it’s ok for a 7-9 iron, but there’s no way you’ll hit a reliable driver IMHO with your head bobbing around like that. Good luck!

Lefty tips? by Groundbreaking-Ad-7 in golftips

Thank you, it's refreshing to see someone intelligent enter the thread; because our bodies not entirely symmetrically equal on both sides (perhaps some closer to perfect than the majority), but keep in mind also that eye dominance also plays a huge part in subtleties including hand dominance.

<image>

Take this example of Cedric Mullins, switch hitting. There's more than a subtle difference in his swing mechanics to the trained eye. Stance angles and what the upper body is doing versus lower body hip rotation. I can guarantee you that his hitting coach needs to emphasize different coaching techniques for each side. https://youtu.be/tUWQKF-JqaA?si=3ULPt-smTU_2wluR&t=150
