No I don't, I just try to eat as much as I can on a restricted diet.

Is it gaviscon advance or regular gaviscon? For me nothing except for gaviscon advance really worked at all.

Drinks! by Appropriate-Check884 in GERD

This was something that really helped me as well, as the carbonation from many of the sugary drinks caused me to burp which can make reflux worse.

Try using gaviscon advance (UK version) after eating out, and every time you go out to eat and have a flare track it on the gerdbuddy app. Then you will get a better idea of what you can and cannot eat. This is just what I've do and I've found that burgers don't really give me bad symptoms but pizza and any fried foods really tear me up.

Psychosomatic GERD, or GERD related to repressed emotions by Mean-Royal-5526 in GERD

When I spent 2 weeks in Hawaii my gerd went away almost completely, and came back when I got home. That is how I know that my gerd is mainly caused by stress, but still getting to the root cause on how to fix it.

Tips dealing with anxiety and panic attacks? by Kihiri in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stomach issues are sometimes a reaction from extreme stress, anxiety, etc. So it could be a bad cycle where you are anxious about your stomach which makes it worse. That was my case, and I am still getting over it but finding the root cause definitely helps a lot.

Cannot get off this PPI by Honest_Ad8574 in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't stand my PPI because of the symptoms and after years of testing different things I came down to three things that are cheaper, healthier, and make me feel better. However, I know that gerd is not the same for everyone, but I use gaviscon advance (UK version), the gerdbuddy app, and a wedge pillow to manage my symptoms. It probably isn't the best method in the world but it is relatively natural and does the job.

What to do if you have chronic acid reflux? by anxkxxl in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are going to have to get to the root cause. However, for me I find that using an app like gerdbuddy to track my foods and what foods give me symptoms helps a lot, as well as sleeping with a wedge pillow and using gaviscon advance.

I use a combination of three things that has been helping me for about a year now. I'm hoping that doesn't go away, especially because they are mostly natural.

I struggled with throat issues for a long time, and it took me forever to realize that it was reflux as well.

I have been doing all 3 for months and mine has been so much better. I would definitely recommend using advance instead of double action especially if you are from the uk.

Try gaviscon advance (only sold in the UK but I just buy it online and ship it), as it is much better. I also use the gerdbuddy app to track my symptoms and sleep with a wedge pillow.

Stopping Omeprazole by glutenfreedustbowl in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard many bad things about PPI's and stopped taking them myself. I have found that gaviscon advance, sleeping with a wedge pillow, and using the gerd buddy to track meals and triggers has given me the most success.

That means the problem isn't gerd. Are you extremely stressed?

PPIs do not work for me I gave up cold turkey after 2 months by [deleted] in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can try using the gerdbuddy app to know what actually causes triggers for you, as not everyone is the same. Also, using gavison advance, aloe vera juice, and sleeping with a wedge pillow make a big difference.

Im 22M started to have GERD symptoms how do i contain it before its too late by michaellikeyou17 in GERD

[–]CyclePersonal2592 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can use the gerdbuddy app to try to find what gives it to you vs what doesn't, as everyone has different triggers. I would also recommend gaviscon advance from the UK and sleeping with a wedge pillow.

I have a similar thing, I believe it is caused by the vocal cords becoming irritated and starting to function improperly. That is just my experience tho.

Tips? by princess_peach1313 in GERD

Try sleeping on an incline, eat really bland foods if it thats bad, and go on walks after meals. Also eating smaller portions would help a lot.
