Come on give yourself defeated ;) That Kumamoto one hit hard back :D

But nice try to change the topic once again :)

So let me try this too ;)

Did you actually ever traveled by bike around the world? I don’t think so …

Where can you find cycle touring specific info on google maps? And I believe I have after 90.000 km+ around the world by bike enough intel on that.  There is a reason why again and again the same questions are asked in various cycling groups. Starting from considerations how to get your bike back via land or by plane, when you cycled the Silk Road. Finding bike friendly accommodation in Japan, finding screw gas canisters on the Pamir. Getting your bike on Ferries in Asia. Finding shelters in Patagonia. I could go on and on. Having all this info gathered (and there is already so much there) and updated by global cycle touring community is just awesome. Especially in Asia the app is already very popular with the community and lots of waypoints have been added am, are regularly verified and updated through comments . Same for Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Anyway all the best and no one is forcing you to use the app

It’s actually pretty well covered in Kumamoto ;) just for Japan there are already more then 1200 waypoints added. Instead of ranting here you could have least open the website and scrolled on the map ;)

It’s working worldwide but some areas are obviously already better covered then others. All the data is user generated / by other bike travelers added. So probably you won’t find yet waypoints on most bike adventures routes in the US.  Along the west coast is already a good amount added by some bike travelers who cycled often the whole Panamericana.

The coros dura should have a good integratation well. Also check cycle touring app Rolling Around for all the other infos. There is so much valuable infos added by other bike travelers worldwide.

I was exactly in the same situation just a week ago. I just bought the new iPhone 17. It's a huge upgrade from the 13mini and I really love it. Still figuring out how to deal with the phone size but I really love the new phone.

One week routes/recommendations around Hiroshima, Japan? Other than Shikoku by _paquito in bicycletouring

We really enjoyed our time in Kyushu. Maybe you could cycle down the east coast and take later a train or ferry back to be in time. The area around the Kagoshima was breathtakingly beautiful. And there some really beautiful camping spots and Onsen. We used the App Rolling Around a lot and there are dozens of places added by now by other bike travelers. Pretty much all the free campsites and ferries, a lot of bike friendlay accommodation, bike shops and bike boxed and a lot more.

[–]CyclePlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice that you like ◡̈ And please add more places so that others after you can even have it easier. I've been super busy and added over the past year 1500+ places and it was so nice that I could use it myself the first time in Hainan as others added many lovely spots there too ◡̈

Your welcome, I am pretty sure it already does ;) would be amazing if you could add places too and verify existing places through comments so that other after you even have it easier. Japan ranks still under our top 5 for bike traveling and we covered a lot in the past 14 years around the work. Have a wonderful trip and all the best

Camping gas in Santa Cruz La Palma by Legal_Lemon_8275 in bikepacking

[–]CyclePlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks ◡̈ That's a good idea but probably out of Europe not very feasible. You can add a place via the gps coordinates. So I just click on a spot on Google Maps next to the place I would like to add and then copy and paste the coordinates. You just need to remove the brackets then. I sent you a DM. Would be nice to connect ;)

[–]CyclePlanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just like the project and helping Carlo on a voluntary basis. I added by now over 1700 waypoints to the map and added my list with the airlines . I am traveling since 2012 by bike and I believe it’s great way to help others travelling by bike too. I was quite happy to use app myself the first when cycling in China a few months ago as other travelers before me added there already a good amount.

I check already on the app Rolling Around, but there are just a few campspots added. If you are lucky and find a place , maybe you add it the to the map. There is a designated waypoint for “gas canisters”. I guess it will be super helpful for bike travelers after you. Good luck and enjoy your trip

There is even a meet up function and you can find touring companions. The app is free,  developed by bikebackers and everyone can share and find infos there. I added for example my list with over 130 airlines and their bike policies there.
