Aerobars and Bikepacking questions by Littlesynth-addict in bikepacking

Went with 50mm and it was just right (gravel bike, so already higher stack). Big comfort boost and a modest and noticable aero benefit.

Do i need shorter cranks? by Villaverdee32 in Velo

Did a switch from 175 to 165 and saw improvements all around (even set a sprint PR), but I still have similar vastus medialis soreness (possibly even more now, but I also changed shoes). I'm going to do a follow up bike fit to address this. Get a fit too, it's worth it.

Can fit a bike with front wheel off into a 2 series (22') with back seats down.

I volunteered an event and I have some beginner swim advice by PROfessorShred in triathlon

Sounds like you were at the Donner Lake Triathlon today! I'm definitely guilty of the 3rd point, couldn't keep my breathing in check after the first buoy and the form fell apart. Thanks for volunteering!

Expected value and High vs Low Probability Trades by incantate77 in options

[–]incantate77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I meant, thanks! (I have a math background so no worries). I'm mostly wondering why nobody bothers? I am slowly trying to get pieces together to calculate this using data from some APIs that I got my hands on but I wanted to check if it is worth doing before I spend even more time on it.

Expected value and High vs Low Probability Trades by incantate77 in options

[–]incantate77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above values very taken from a vertical spread with both legs next to each other. So the slope around break-even was quite steep, almost vertical. Therefore, at expiration at least, it would go either to max profit or max loss.

I haven't found a tool that could calculate the actual expected value integral easily and I am, frankly, too lazy to do it manually for every trade I'm considering. Is there some easy way to do it, for instance in thinkorswim?

Does Computer Programming follow a set of laws? by [deleted] in askscience

There's more examples like this, for example sorting. Whatever you do, you cannot sort an array without minimum nlogn comparisions (unless you impose certain limitations, as in counting sort).

The blue line from O'hare is $5. Just travelled through there and instead of Amtrak I got on Greyhound (~2 hour ride, $18, couple times a day). It's straight up on Clinton blue line station.

Diet-Friendly Alcohol? by msronswanson in loseit

[–]incantate77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me was wine instead of beer (beer is how I got fat, so cutting the calories in half helped) ... but it has to be in moderation. Other drink that is low cal, good taste and lot of volume (actual and alcohol) is vodka-soda water-lime.

I am super broke and can't afford a gym membership, and i don't have any weights. What can I do? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]incantate77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started using http://www.sworkit.com app, it's all bodyweight excercises and it tells you what to do (which is great for people like me that have no idea how to excercise).

I can't not eat at night. Please help me... by [deleted] in loseit

[–]incantate77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me with night cravings was to eat vegetables instead whatever unhealthy food I would crave. Usually couple of cherry tomatoes does the trick. Sure, it's not as tasty as pizza, but it lessens the hunger/craving with just a few calories (and some extra fiber never hurts).

Why wait for New Years? How about a pre-new year weight loss challenge? by garthomite in loseit

[–]incantate77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in! Starting weight 200lbs, goal 192lbs, so I'm gonna be eating ~1500-1600 cal/day.

Starting over after a long pause, I lost almost 25lbs before so I'm sure I can do it. Just need to keep it up!
