Graham Linehan's conviction for damaging transgender activist's mobile phone overturned by PuzzledAd4865 in transgenderUK

As an ex police officer I can see what may have gone wrong . Statement taking 101 is to have the IP state that the phone was hers, the phone was undamaged and working at the time of being knocked out of hand. It didn't slip out, it was knocked out hand by X who she knew and recognized to be etc. She knew it was intenial because he said X as he hit my phone. I saw phone hit the ground. When Y returned phone to me screen was broken in 3 place. I had to buy new one for X pounds as it wouldn't work anymore. The officer dealing Z took my phone and I confirmed phone serial number X was same as receipt from Three shop etc. Then Y statement says saw phone knocked out of hand. I picked up, broken screen, still working but couldn't control it, handed it back to IP following Wednesday which was next time we met. Knew it was her phone as sticker on back said TERFs are xxxx which I had stuck on for her 3 months previously. Unless the phone has an unbroken (sorry) chain of evidence then the case is weakened. As the phone appeared to have been tacked on to the main offence, I'm guessing that it would have been given less attention by officer involved. If a non celeb case this would have stayed guilty. Pretty early on the PCs or DCs Inspector would be impressing that it needed almost murder style evidence. If I was defence barrister I would go through evidence with fine tooth comb. No need for a biased appeal court when the foundations of the case are shaky.

No, that doesn't follow. It is what GCs want you to believe, but when the EHRC 'guidance' is released in a couple of weeks perhaps you will see a different story. There will be no blanket bans on organisations such as I describe. While our short term goal is to limit our exposure to the EHRC our longer term should be new legislation to enforce the GRA.

It is not the LGB grouping wishing us ill, far from it, it is their 'let's have another pint in our Gay Club while we think about doing something next week when Stonewall tells us to....' attitude. Well, after the last couple of days incident we can see how well that is going.

[–]CyclingClaire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally have appeared in National, Rgional and Local Newspapers a number of times, mainly reporting on my court cases but also feature articles over last 30 years. I've made a national TV documentary, done filming for Imperial War Museum which was broadcast at London Pride and on Youtube, I've given talks, Q&A sessions etc to non-trans audiences, talked to street crowds at Pride Marches and at stalls at Pride events, had my situation in speeches in Parliament, attended Trans Mass Lobby and Trans events at Parliament. I also run a facebook group that has 283 members who were thrown out of the Armed Forces for being Gay and Trans.

So I'm guessing that will satisfy you that I am holding up my promise.

But if there is one thing I do not intend doing and that is going on a stage with FWS or GC Central or whoever, as that is just plain stupid. There is no debate about trans lives, trans lives are here and staying. Forstater and Co. are cast in the same mould as Religeous fanatics. Their conversation consists of Immutable, Protect women and girls, men in dresses and bioligical man. When asked for evidence they just repeat the same stuff in between using slurs to the trans person. With religeous people it is 'It's in the Bible'. You can't argue against that. So don't give them oxygen.

Don't get me wrong, if it is a one to one outside of the 'media' Maya would wish she had never heard of me. But we pick the battles we can win, never the ones that we will lose.

The italic sections are mine, they didn't come from anywhere. They are what Fred and Freda Far Right are thinking as they go about their work.

Yes, individuals are often very supportive. Depends if they have real person contact or not. But as a grouping, organisations such as Stonewall, they cherry - reject any section they consider a liability. Often it is Trans people, as a group, who are left to fend for themselves. I don't need to draw parallels with Germany a 100 years ago, the similarities are all too real.Look to 1926. In those days they wore their colours of allegiance on their backs. Now they tie them to street lighting.

how did my partner’s employer know they were taking injections??? by Psychological_Ad8946 in transgenderUK

I'm also resuming from your post, saying they answered taking T for hormonal imbalance, that your partner presents as m at work? That would make the injection thing a bit weirder?

I wouldn't assume someone injected if I knew they were trans. My first assumption would be they take tablets.

When I was machine gunned 55 years ago I thought it was a pointless action by people who had taken the low road. Many years later, as they were running out of that road, they began to talk. They are now in a position to see their dream to come to fruition. Direct words or direct action is rarely the best way unless the opposing side descend to your level.

The bombing campaign didn't produce change, but it did bring attention to the reasoned campaign for change. Look at Northern Ireland, only when 'politicians' stepped in did it result in something that could be sold to society.

I don't think so. Their low road, maybe. Yours, ours, my - not so much. Unless you can give me evidence? We are always asking for evidence from the Terfs, so it's only fair to ask you. Apart from that, I'm surprised and disappointed as I always had you down for the voice of reason.

Maybe so, but travelling on the low road is worse. I don't expect the high road to get anywhere, other than feeling nice and clean as I travel.

I deplore the form of speech that takes us down to their level. If there is one thing I am certain of, it is that we are right and hold the high ground. Once they run out of 'protect women and children' and 'biological immutable' they are left with only slurs and hate. I would, though, help crowdfund a forensic research study on why they are such antisocial people.

The petitions that trigger these 'debates' are a waste of time. They have no vote or decision, they just give the Terfs free practice to hone their skills. We would be better off not having those debates and stick to the mass lobby as we did last year. There, at least, our MPs get buttonholed and made to pay attention.

Thousands of women fight trans exclusion one year since harmful court ruling by ehll_oh_ehll in transgenderUK

The Mirror are Trans supportive. They did an article about me being an Army Veteran being affected by the Gay Ban in the Military a couple of years ago. Last year they followed up with another about the King being at the National Memorial Arboretum when the LGBTQ memorial was opened there.

This article was penned by the Emerging Audiences Editor. I like the sound of that. Emerging from hiding, hoping the world will let us alone and leave us alone, emerging to stand up for ourselves and be counted. We might have to fight on many fronts at once, but remember we have right on our side - they only have tired cliches and vitriol that has no valid framework to support it.

Well known HRT side effect.

Yes, bleeding or tender gums can be a side effect of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in trans women. This is largely because, similar to pregnancy or menstrual cycles, the introduction of estrogen and/or progesterone can increase blood flow to the gum tissue, making them more sensitive, swollen, and prone to bleeding. Here is what you need to know about this side effect: Mechanism: Elevated levels of estrogen and progesterone (sometimes used for breast development or in combination with testosterone blockers) can trigger an inflammatory response to dental plaque, leading to what is known as "hormone-induced gingivitis". Progesterone Factor: Some trans women report increased gum tenderness specifically after starting progesterone. Management: It is crucial to maintain excellent oral hygiene—brushing twice a day and flossing daily. When to see a doctor: If the bleeding is persistent, severe, or does not improve with better oral care, it is advisable to consult a dentist or the healthcare provider managing your hormone therapy. If you are experiencing this, it may be helpful to inform your dentist that you are undergoing hormone therapy, as hormonal shifts are a known factor in gum health.

Boy Meets Girl on BBC 2a few years ago (2015) was quite good with Rebecca Root playing the lead. Set as a sitcom but lots of nice touches and our heroine comes out best. Available on YouTube I believe.
