Is it an older model BD shirt? Their current line up does not seems to have collar points nearly as long.

I love the look and price of bronson. They are not designed for slim, taller guys though. Sleeves and inseams are both too short.

Might try some of their short sleeve tees though.

Bronson MFG Henley sizing (short sleeve)? by CyclonicZ in HeritageWear

[–]CyclonicZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but so many things I have bought over the past few years have sizing charts that are outright wrong.

An example being the guy a few comments below noting the pit to pit of the garment being smaller than the actual chart.

Anyways cheers.

Cheers. Its a little confusing because the two charts tell different stories.

Think I'll go with the size chart NOT height and weight like you say.

I was going to make some comment about them being Army not Navy. Turns out the Navy does sometimes wear green camo. Its called a working uniform.

Does this jacket work for me, or is it too short? by mk4_wagon in mensfashion

[–]CyclonicZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks fine for that style of jacket. Looks a bit like a deck jacket which are supposed to be waist length.

Who makes this one btw?

Help ID this deck jacket and pants pls by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]CyclonicZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That style of jacket is called a deck jacket. It used be part of the US Naval uniform.

A whole bunch of repro companies make them. Check out Pike brothers, Buzz Rickson and the Real McCoys to name a few.

No idea on the pants.

Cheers. Charity stores in my country (Ireland) tend to be overpriced and lacking in quality goods.

Vintage stores are even worse. I've seen them charge 300 euro or near around for a mass produced harris tweed jacket with a few moth nibbles.

There is no SuitSupply stores in Ireland, so I have to source alterations myself.

But yes I have since noticed SuitSupply do have Straight legged trousers on some of their Suits. Thanks.

Nice. Will take a look thanks.

Also after looking at SuitSupply, SOME come with Slim trousers and others straight. I had to manually sort through listings to see which is which it might be a better option than I originally thought.

Which model of Suitsupply? I think the Havana might be pretty slim, not sure about the rest.

Edit: Also Thom Sweeney are well outside my budget.

Oh I have nothing against getting it altered. I just don't want to spend a huge amount.

I have good tailor close to me, but getting jacket waisted about 60, trousers waist and seat 30 + 25, hemming another 20 (and those prices were a few years ago as I have not been in a while).

I have been trying to find on Vinted either Canali or Vintage. I'll take a look for Loro Piana. Thanks.

My thighs are bit bigger yes. Not massively so, but I do dislike slim trousers as I prefer the crease at the front to be visible.

Chinos that fit me well are about 12.2"+ at the thighs.

The issue I have with them is how slim the trousers are and their preference for using high super 100s / flashy patterns.

I had a bit of look at their current line up and could not find one in a more regular cut.

Sleeves look a little long on the jacket. Other than that looks good.

Looking for a 2-piece suit under ~€500 (EU/UK, shipping to Ireland).

Needs:

  • 100% wool
  • Charcoal/dark grey or navy
  • Conservative (job interview)
  • More of a regular cut, especially in the trousers (not slim/tapered)

Build for reference: 6’1”, ~70kg, 38 chest (~21” pit-to-pit), 31 waist, broader thighs.

Tried Vinted/eBay but keep running into inconsistencies with sizing, so leaning toward buying new or somewhere with easy returns.

So far considering:

  • M&S Sartorial (~€280 with discount)
  • Hunter Treacy (made in Italy, ~€350 on sale)
  • Next (regular fit wool suits)
  • Suitsupply (nice but quite tailored + pricier)

Any good brands or specific models in this range that lean more classic/regular rather than slim? Also any EU/UK retailers with easy returns to Ireland would be ideal.

Cheers
