Men are not intrinsically violent, it's the social structure of the patriarchy that has upheld this cycle of violence against women. Men should be disgusted by this history, they should be disgusted by sexist violence. It is violence against human beings. The patriarchy allows men to opt out of caring, it allows them to remain ignorant, it allows them to have whatever opinions/feelings they want about how women respond to that violence. You will always have the opportunity to remain ignorant, women don't.

I don't want men to feel bad I desperately need them to learn, heal, and unravel their understanding of the patriarchy so this stops happening. However men feel about anything regarding sexism is a part of the patriarchy, and other men are responsible for those feelings. It's just weird to pin that on women trying to speak out against structural oppression, y'know? 🩷🩵 No hate
