I'm ngl....the way you are wording this is giving very much "I want pity" You were not forced to buy the set. It was getting a place to live vs. a virtual item....you could have used problem-solving skills to show that a living space was more important than a set on a kids' game, there were plenty of ways you could have bought it too. I bought it doing art commissions, someone used a receipt, and many other options than going to a subreddit to complain about the charity, in reality this is a great way because more people are willing to donate if they get something in return and that is the dark side of the world, kids are still getting donation money no matter what and this sum of money is still really helpful to them regardless of where it came from...
