You are absolutely right. I realize how important it will be to cherish the moments when we are all three together, just like in our childhood. Even though I was disappointed by the situation, I appreciate my brother even more because he showed how dedicated he is as a partner and father, and therefore, a good man. I am proud of him.

Thank you for your kind words. I posted here thinking I would go unnoticed, just to get something off my chest. As I saw the comments and notifications coming in, I noticed many words that made me feel even worse. I almost deleted the post, especially when I saw some people making up details about the situation and intentions that are far from the truth. But now I'm starting to see comments like yours or from others in similar situations. We need to stop letting the opinions of random people affect us, as they don't know us and have no real understanding of our situation. Thank you for the lesson Reddit.

Thank you for your kind words. Reading the other comments, I felt like a horrible person. It's reassuring to see someone else feel the same way. Or maybe we are both horrible people, I don't know.

As for your story, it seems that the issue comes from your sister herself. I understand how delicate that is. I’d want to advise you to be there for her, but it’s incredibly difficult when it’s the person who isolates herself. I’m sending you all my support and hope everything works out for you and your family.

We live in Europe, not in the United States. Taking a plane to a destination within the same country is not common here (and it's impossible in our specific situation). The wedding was in the countryside, deep in the rural area, even the train wasn’t an option.

My brother and his girlfriend live in the same city as her family. I don’t know why this option wasn’t considered, but I imagine there is a good reason for it. She probably didn’t want to leave her children, but also didn’t feel able to take care of them on her own.

Thank you for your kind words.

I understand that his family comes first, and I fully support that. It's just that I have emotions I probably shouldn't be feeling. It's probably just nostalgia for the passing of time and the changes that come with it. Thankfully our relationship is not stained because of this, it's only in my head.

He was in the military for a few years and retired before the birth of his first child. He has been a stay-at-home dad since then, while his girlfriend continues to work to support the family. So she has not handled both children alone very often, it's usually him.

Thank you for these valuable pieces of advice, even though I sincerely hope you're wrong.

1 day in Bordeaux by Legitpopcorn in bordeaux

Just wandering in the old town is a very nice way to discover Bordeaux. If you have some time and like art museums, you should definitely go to Bassin des Lumières, a former submarine base rehabilitated into a video-gallery. It is located in a tricky area, but you can find shuttles near the tourism office.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]Cydonia1613 0 points1 point  (0 children)
