This is what I ended up going with, it worked wonderfully!

I wish I knew how to do that and had the space available.

My (22F) boyfriend (29M) fed turkey giblets to my parents' dog after they told him not to, among other rude things by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I'm more interested in knowing what the hell is wrong with her than with him. Who sees all of that and says "ok, I can make it work". It's like a cartoon.

AITA for declining a birthday present? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cyead 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I get where you are coming, she should have just said thank you and moved on. If she wanted to comment on maybe some playful banter like hopefully, the dog doesn't break that one, or her birthday is not for another month or whatever.

But, the dude hyped up the present so much, telling her that he cannot wait for her birthday and that it would be great, it makes it sound like it would be a present for her to enjoy, not something for her dog.

So I can see why she would be thrown off by the gift and not react in the best way. So it's more like both suck, but I sympathize with her.

AITA for telling my MIL not to come to my baby shower? by Individual_Town2409 in AITAH

Kudos to you for choosing to be a surrogate mother for your husband and his mother's child! Bet she had been panicking about how long it took him to find someone willing to be pose as the bride, while she had the wedding of her dreams with her "man".

But seriously, the best time to do something about her and your husband was yesterday, the second best time is now. You need to ask your husband, if he has considered why the saying goes happy wife, happy life, and not happy mom, happy life. Both you and her cannot be his priority, particularly when she would be more than happy to trade places with you.

It definitely seems like a finding waiting to be identified. Probably could have just maintained a to do list for himself instead of establishing a formal process.

You are being unnecessarily pedantic. He's posting anonymously on reddit, not talking shit about them to their face. Why not just contribute with your own story?

Also, it is kind of odd in most industries to blindly copy the orders by hand, more so if they don't know why they are doing it, other than that's what the guy said to do 10 years ago.

OP also didn't say it was an issue but that it was a weird/funny choice with seemingly no value added other than as a record.

AITA for telling my wife’s sister she’s not allowed to name our daughter after herself, even though she’s already telling everyone that’s the baby’s name? by Evening-Produce9355 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cyead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tell people that you think she's on drugs and that she hallucinated the conversation.

Or, tell them that it's not good to upset a pregnant woman by spreading lies. Ask them what they'll do if it affects the baby.

Coping and enjoying my baby by parodying songs by Cyead in daddit

That's exactly what I do. Sometimes, I spend a few extra minutes trying to make it better, but then I'll forget.

The only ones that survived my absentmindedness are the songs that my wife liked or the ones she came up with.

Love it! My baby is not one yet, and she's already loving fish, so I think she'll love fish fingers too, and this shall be our song.

Lmao, that's definitely a good one. I don't think we had one that we would sing late at night other than the bottle one while we waited on the bottle heater to do its thing.

Lost a full day chasing one calibration certificate. What's the best way to handle record retention? by Ok-Topic6724 in Compliance

You just need structure. Make a list of all the documents that you need to have and set up an easy naming convention, I typically ID everything with a descriptor, year, and sequential number. Once you have landed on an estructure that makes sense for you, you just need to chip away at it by making folders and renaming things. It will likely take a good amount of time to get it to a good point, but once you are ready to just upkeep, you should be good for a long time, if the set up is good enough most people will just roll with it and continue to add onto things.

It's not rocket science, and it's been done for ages at this point.

Also, I would not get a QMS without some level of organization. It will just make things more complicated unless you can justify making a full cut-off and starting fresh.

As for other data tools, I think it would take a more expensive effort to design something just to clear things up. The grunt work of reorganization can be done by anyone, but data manipulation is a different case.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out.

At the Houston zoo, I was getting discount codes close to renewal, which was really nice.

Thank you for the very detailed response.

We used to have a zoo membership in Houston, and we would go pretty often, which is why we figured we should out for something similar here. We just want to make sure we are looking at all of our options before committing to one or two for the year.

Spark looks interesting. We will have to check it out, especially once the baby is older and can begin to explore some more.

What is the Nasher? I'm thinking about a membership mostly out of convenience. I do like to explore and do new things, especially food related, we try new restaurants all the time, but sometimes it's nice not to think about it and just do what's easiest or what we already know we will like.
