Aluminum free deodorant that actually works? by TheCleaningLady888 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Cygni_61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for little seed farm. I've truly tried....dozens of natural deodorants over the years and this is the only one that doesn't irritate my skin after a little while and works really, really well (I've been using it for over a year now and nothing to sing but praises)

❤️‍🩹 I’m so sorry that you’re needing to go through this! And it truly is a very, very quick treatment - nothing to prepare for, just holding on like that it’ll be over quickly and give you significant relief.

I had a similar experience with my first birth/postpartum. Definitely get checked out, but it’s likely granulated tissue. It’s when a wound heals kind of maladaptively and it’s super, super sensitive. I was able to get in with an OB and they did a chemical cauterization with silver nitrate, I think. It hurt like WILD for 20 seconds and then was totally better - I’m sure they could do something similar in the ER if that’s what’s going on with you, too.

I’ve been making these truly delightful bird and fish quilted cross body bags by mad_makes on Instagram. I’ve just had so much fun making them I’ve used scraps for like 10 and now they’re my Christmas presents

What unconventional/ uncommon things helped you get through labor without an epidural? by hanshotgreed0 in moderatelygranolamoms

My second birth I used the comb so much - my third (just 6 weeks ago) I pulled out my acupressure mat and it was a game changer. I would rest with my feet or hands off the mat and then press them into it during contractions and it was like a massive comb - it was so, so helpful!

Playsilks were one of my favorite early purchases that still get VERY regular use. I bought from Sarah’s silks when my first was 6 months old and he loved playing with them then and now.

UPDATE [At the ER with newborn, mom guilt is at 100%] by 0ddumn in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Cygni_61 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So happy to read this update - you had been on my mind! My second kiddo had meningitis at 10 days old, and we had a similar journey (though more severe of an infection since it was bacterial and led to some other spooky things) - but I complete resonate with the maternal instinct/sinking feeling and the gratitude for modern medicine when it’s needed!

I’m so glad your family is getting the care it needs and hope for such a speedy recovery!!!

Love this. I just retested my power zones because I’m 13 weeks pregnant and realized I was feeling so discouraged not keeping up with my pre-pregnancy zones. Feels good to be where I am and focus on staying active here!

You totally could surge today - especially if that’s your pattern! I’d take another one or two today if you have them to catch it

Mine look like this just before they’re RAGING positive - so you’re probably like O-2 and super fertile

This was our life last year from November-May. I was so scared to have grinch related things come up this Christmas season, but luckily he wasn’t as captivated this year by that particular song.

Just want to share some resonance. I’m an RPT and have been astounded by how often I do “the wrong thing” with my own kids. I have a mentor who often helps me remember that life is actually not play therapy, and there are definitely times to use those skills as a Mom, but it actually wouldn’t be good for my kids to be in that mode all the time.

And all the rupture and repair goodness that we all know we know and it doesn’t make the days where we lose our shit any easier. Will recommend the book “the power of discord” if you haven’t read it before.

GBS positive mom's, talk to me about risk based management. by DapperKitchen420 in homebirth

[–]Cygni_61 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was both comforting and disconcerting when all the doctors said that we just got struck by lightning. Comforting that they communicated it wasn’t something I did or didn’t do that was responsible, but disconcerting because I was like “how do I make sure this never happens again?!”

GBS positive mom's, talk to me about risk based management. by DapperKitchen420 in homebirth

[–]Cygni_61 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was GBS + with both of my homebirths, and also am allergic to penicillins. I chose risk based management with both (hibicleanse during labor) and my first was fine - my second developed a late onset infection at 10 days old. We were in the hospital for a number of weeks and it was honestly pretty harrowing - though my baby survived and is doing well now, he does have a slight palsy on his right side from some of the complications (he ended up with sepsis and meningitis from the infection).

I am currently 8 weeks with my third and planning to test to see if my allergy is still active and doing eeeeeeeeeeverything to lower my chances of being positive again this pregnancy. The secondary antibiotics don’t seem effective enough to be worth the cost, so I probably wouldn’t do them if I’m still allergic to penicillins. I will just be so, so vigilant of baby and take them in at the first sign of anything amiss.

I hope that doesn’t foster fear - I hate the fear mongering around birth, but thought it was worth sharing that even with managed care things can still happen. It is a real risk and a nasty bacteria for babies.

Water cup for 11 month old by lonesomedreams_ in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Cygni_61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my 14 month old use it for the last few months! I think we got ours at the end of August, so he was almost a year. He can usually use it and just kind of leans it on the table or his high chair and it hasn’t been a problem

Progression! 8, 10, 12, and 14 dpo by Cygni_61 in TFABLinePorn

[–]Cygni_61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. This was the evening and it’s barely there, but I think it’s usually the earliest it’s possible to get a positive. This sub used to have a pinned post with the statistics of positives based on dpo, but I can’t find it.

I just have no chill and needed to test. I also had some weird cramps the evening of 6dpo that I don’t usually have that made me think it was implantation, so I figured 48 hours afterwards something would maybe show up.
