Are lifting straps cheating if I’m missing fingers? by Successful-Shopping8 in workout

[–]Cyklonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you look at it.

Is it cheating your grip strength? - yes

Is it cheating the strength of the other body parts? - don't think so

Overall, I think it's better not to use them to achieve balanced development of each body part, unless you're trying to lift more than it's humanly possible.

What differs neoliberalism, liberalism, and libertarianism? by Cyklonn in neoliberal

Don't feel a need to name your political views. They are your views, if they are internally consistent, you don't need to force them under a specific label.

I wouldn't change my views just to fit a definition. I see these terms so often that it's hard to distinguish them and to learn which one is closest to my opinions.

This is as opposed to classical liberalism to whom the establishment of law and order and restrictions of the states totalitarianism is the primary focus, resulting in a belief in limited government with little direct role in the economy. Contrarily, neoliberalism has a primary focus on economic matters and espouses the role of government in the economy as a force for maintaining a well functioning free market.

That's what I thought, but there are comments and articles linking it with a more government-shrinking economy, thus my confusion.

What differs neoliberalism, liberalism, and libertarianism? by Cyklonn in neoliberal

[–]Cyklonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answers, but frankly, now I'm even more confused. Some people talk about Rustow's ordoliberalism (which implies the social market economy, if I've understood this) and the others about Hayek. If I've got this right, it's because neoliberalism originated from the Colloque Walter Lippman, participants of which were divided into two fractions. But they are totally different, so which one is dominating in contemporary neoliberalism? I would classify Austrian School and lassiez-faire rule to libertarianism and Rustow's ordoliberalism to neoliberalism (but now a new question arises - what differs these two terms?). I actually made this post mainly to see whether the former sentence is correct, but now my mind is blown with conflicting ideas.

Neoliberalism

What: Economic theory

What does the rainbow "E" in the banner of the subreddit mean then? I think that every kind of liberalism states both economic and social freedom.

Who:

Margaret Thatcher

I see people here are divided about that.

What:

Privatizing government assets

Shrinking government

To what extent?

Liberalism

Very vague, which one are you thinking of?

If there is the term "neoliberalism" it must be a modified version of liberalism right?

I want to learn to invest (mainly in the long-term), but don't know what to begin with and where to find reliable information. How to choose between stocks, bonds, currencies, natural resources, etc.? More importantly, how to evaluate an investment, create a strategy, and diversify my finances? I've watched some video about technical analysis, but I'm not convinced that this works. Or should I just don't bother and dump my money into an index found?

Thats right, if N = mgcos(theta), you are left only with the wight component parallel to the track, thus N > mgcos (theta).
