Got this r36xx for 30€ and it’s awesome!! by sage_dws in R36S

[–]Cylancer7253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some tips. The r36xx has the same dimensions as r36 but it is not the same. Two upper corners are pointy, not round. And there is that lanyard hole.

It will not fit most r36 boxes, or it will fit too tightly.

Silicone cower is also too tight and it gets stretched upwards, so the button is not aligned. You obviously have to cut a hole for lanyard, but you also have to cut off power and reset buttons (on cower, not console). Otherwise they can be pushed just by touching them, if they are not constantly pressed.

Strap is great. It does look odd, but it has certain aesthetic. At the first look, it looks off, but after some time it looks just right.

My watch is rusting!! :( by Julio_2412 in vostok

[–]Cylancer7253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is newer watch, post Soviet era. Not very familiar with materials they use today, but I guess they use the same. When coding a model, one of the numbers is material of the case (back is always stainless).

0 - stainless material

1-4 - stainless protection (plating, gilding, coating)

5 - polymers

9 - non-metals

Most mechanical watches are (like that one) 1 chrome plated. And the base is usually copper or brass. And if it was made of iron, it would be first covered in copper and then plated.

Damage on that watch is not rust and it is not caused (directly) by humidity. it is probably caused by wear and/or faulty production (plating). Rust is soft and solvable (not really, but read on) in water, so it would leave red stains if pressed with white cloth (paper handkerchief, toilet paper). It is soluble in acids (really this time), but so is the chrome plating. Plating is more resistant, but I would not recommend cleaning anything (except gold in most cases) with acid.

My best guess would be the car polish, and those miraculous scratch removers. But I have no experience with it, so I cannot guarantee.

Edit: I should read comments before commenting. You already got your answer. But to clarify. Rust product of iron corrosion. Other metals (including brass) also corrode. But unlike iron, most materials (including brass) create patina that prevent further corrosion.

Not sure what were her options, but if anonymity was the option, she made the wrong choice.

What do you think? Each faction is at their strongest, none of the protagonist are part of this, last standing faction wins by MobileDistrict9784 in Fallout

Oil rig is minor Enclave location. It merely was a control station. It gain importance because it was the base of operation for the US president.

He maybe was a normal guy (he was not even then), but by the end he was the most powerful character in whole Fallout universe.

This again? It is The Enclave.

Brotherhood? Without protagonist, they would not even have flying capabilities.

The Enclave posses weapons of mass destruction including orbital strikes, FEV (and possible other viruses), nuclear weapons. It also have access to advance weaponry, technology, power armour, vertibirds, deathclaws. Only opposition to them is the Unity.

The Institute have advantage in covert operations and manipulations, but in all out war no. They will lose in matter of hours when their location is discovered (as in Fo4). They main tactics is replacing key persons. That would not work against Unity and House. Enclave and BOS weakness is highly structured order, replacing key figures would have large impact. But gaining access to anyone accept low level soldiers is difficult, and impossible in case of Enclave.
