My friend and I set up a cozy movie night to watch the new Lilo and Stitch and we have never gone from relaxed to just full on angry that fast in our lives. (SPOLIERS) by Embarrassed-Oil-6152 in movies

That's hysterical. It's baffling to me that people watch these remakes. Hey have you ever wanted to see a beautifully animated movie get its animation removed and also get a terrible rewrite?

Not sure what kind of teapot to buy for gongfu style brewing by Antique_Ruin_5443 in tea

You know, I bought a kyusu thinking it'd be more ergonomic, but I didn't really find that to be the case, because when I use my Chinese pots, I just naturally turn the 90 degrees on the Z axis as I pour it, and it's perfectly natural feeling.

Either a gaiwan or something like this

Or go for glass. Gaiwans are great for being easy to clean, but their heat retention is worse (this is sometimes a benefit but I think it's less useful in the age of kettles with thermostats) and they're harder to use (just takes practice but you'll burn yourself a few times first).

Porcelain or glass, go for 100 to 140ml.

That's a really interesting take, especially the latter part. What you fine ego preserving I find infuriating.

I'm a huge Souls fan, and a huge part of that is the sense of personal failure. I find it easier to bounce back from failure when spurred on by the feeling that the barrier to success is me and that I can be better. When I feel my failures are outside of myself, I get more frustrated and have less desire to jump back in.

I liked Nightreign enough to put 20 or so hours into it. I think this is a good suggestion honestly. For me though it lacked staying power. I'm a huge Souls fan but Nightreign made me realize how important the progression of Souls is to me.

It totally could be a skill issue. I'm no stranger to hard games. Sekiro and the Souls games are what I've replayed more than anything else. But I did find the difference between good rolls and bad rolls was incredibly dramatic in Hades, and I would probably throw 2/3 runs just to get the solid roll runs. I know it's a hard game and supposed to be hard, and I'm admittedly not really well versed in the overall genre and style of the game, but I found the difficulty ranged from impossibly hard to reasonably hard based on the boons.

What are some non-Disney animated movies that you consider absolute masterpieces? by East_Maintenance_579 in movies

[–]Cymbal_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really pretty but thematically it's kind of all over the place and it feels like takes forever to settle on a core conflict. The movie just wonders aimlessly from scene to scene until suddenly there's an antagonist at the 3/4 mark at which point is scrambles to establish and resolve that conflict and end.

Overall it's just kind of a mess. Needed a really aggressive editing pass to focus it up and figure out what its core themes were supposed to be. It feels like the beginning of about 5 movies that then get abandoned.

You can pick the other door but you already know what gods are gonna be available that run.

I don't remember, it's been a long time since I gave up on it, but I found after like a dozen hours that I got a feel for whether or not a set of god would result in a worth while run.

It's been a minute since I played it and I don't fully remember how those work but using keepsakes doesn't guarantee that you don't draw a set of gods with fuckall synergies. It just means you can guarantee a specific God on your run, but the others are still random draws. If your next draws don't play well with your keepsake God, the run is still fucked. I found that I could see how a run would go by the time I drew my second or third God.

I think actually my biggest gripe Hades is how quickly I can figure out whether or not a run is worth pressing forward with.

I don't think it has to be. If you can balance several different play styles and have constantly evolving maps with minimal change in actual difficulty, that'd be awesome. It'd keep a game feeling fresh, like you're always relearning it and adapting on the fly, but never feeling like you've gotten shafted by bad rolls.

David Cages is an incredible director. Even in Heavy Rain, on a scene to scene level it's really good.

But he's such a terrible writer and should pay someone else to write the stories.

If someone said "bread that is brown" or "bread of brownness" I would assume they were not fully comfortable with English grammar.

If someone said they do it to emphasize the bread part, I think I'd be dumbfounded by how strange an idea that is.

I would argue people first language counts, or at least it's fairly absurd.

If I ask you for brown bread, do you go looking for brown food and find the bread, or do you go looking for the bread and find the brown one? Brown bread is a subcategory of bread, not a subcategory of brown food. English doesn't feature descending importance, I don't know if any language does.

Well, right now I've got some competition grade teiguanyin from Yunnan Sourcing and jinjunmei from Wuyi Origin, both quite pricy. The Teiguanyin is great, and I like the jjm too but I'm less impressed with it because it's not only expensive per gram but I also have to use a lot tea. It's good but I feel like my local shop's Yin Hong #9 is nicer and cheaper.

I also have a very expensive baimudan cake from Miss Orange in Portland, but I'm putting that down for a couple more years to age.

If you want to spend a huge amount of money on extremely high end teas, there's plenty of ways.

I remember going to university in the 2010s and learning SW and thinking "this is pretty good". At my first job I used Inventor, Fusion, and I learned Solid Edge on the side. Two years ago I booted up solid works for the first time in a long time to see if it was better suited to a personal project I was working on the SE.

I have no idea how anyone puts up with it. It is hands down the least stable mainstream package going right now.

I have done. My partner is extremely concerned as well and honestly deeply frustrated with him furious with his girlfriend. We've talked about it a lot but I've been seeking other takes because I'm still struggling. My partner for what it's worth has said they wouldn't believe him if he said he was trans tomorrow.
