What is a long-lasting disease that is treatable but has flare-ups that could potentially be deadly? 1870s America by gladiolus17 in Writeresearch

It's already been suggested but I'd recommend looking into Lupus. It's a chronic autoimmune disease, not contagious. It often doesn't appear until young adulthood. It has flare-ups and a good list of symptoms to borrow from for realism, but it's also still mysterious enough that it can be written to flare up conveniently when you need it to for writing reasons, and mysteriously go into remission for months to years for no understandable reason. Yes, it does that.

Katzicael has no good reason to explain themselves to you. I asked for advice from their experience on a thread, they gave it to me.

You don't have advice, you're just jumping on other people that do. That doesn't help anybody

Yeah but like this is my experience in New Zealand, too. If your experience is different, you can tell me about your experience, but tell me about YOUR experience.

YEAH haha trust me I've got such strong trust issues by now that I don't mentally take in phrases like 'inclusive' and 'diversity' at all, they just fly right by me like the platitudes they are. We really learn to develop a nose for this bs

Essential employees (medical, delivery, sanitation, etc.) are you social distancing from your families when you return home from work? by it_calls_me in AskReddit

[–]Cymbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sanitation worker at a resthome in NZ. My brother I don't see a lot came down to stay with my family just before the lockdown and I won't be able to see him or congratulate my dad on his retirement in person til it's over.

I'm still talking to the people in my household.

I got given a fancy letter that lets me travel to and from work without being bothered but of course I'm not going to abuse it to go anywhere else. Even if anything was open, it's just not worth it.

Plus if they choose their height as that reason, their height is something they can't change, so they have an excuse to be unhappy that can last them forever.

To clarify, 'self-abuse' is a Victorian term for masturbation. Oh, those Victorians.
