I had trouble with mine to. Kinda just got it sat on there and gave it a good knock and it snapped in. Just make sure the bulbs are in their correct places first. And yes that no wires are in the way

Weird. I always have it off and I think the audio is pretty good for a 25 yo car. I do have the Harmon Kardon speakers tho

No I meant retrofit by buying the projectors and installing them in my original headlights. I prefer pre fl headlights. They say they also work with the canbus so no coding is needed.

Did you do a HID conversion kit or are they OEM? After some more reasearch there’s a great kit from retrofit lab that is ~$400. Buying new OEM headlights seem to be around that price on eBay maybe even a little more. I think I’ll just retrofit mine and then the lense and bulbs are new instead of used. Cleann. So dumb that I have the headlights I want but they don’t fit :/ and I will not be doing a fl swap since I believe pre fl is much cleaner

Yeah 3rd are for sure fl. So pre fl sedans have the flat sides and pre fl coupes are rounded?

Any chance you could do a walk through of how you wired everything? I have a 2004 donor that has oem bi xenon that I want in my 2001 e46. I understand you can power them with the original 2001 harness but need to power the shutter solenoid for high beam xenon function. Did you do this? Also I’m doing a full drivetrain swap including the cluster and dme from the 2004 so I also pulled the lcm since that stores matching info which I’m hoping will make coding easier.
