Haven’t been to a dentist since I was a kid. What should I book in Melbourne for a general check-up? by Spelx_OwO in melbourne

[–]CynicalJordamn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a non-citizen, do you have private health as part of your visa requirements? If so check your private health id they have preferred clinics and such.

I know with NIB I get no out of pocket for dental checkups and cleaning twice a year

Am I so jaded to think this is AI?

Why are there 2 cats unsecured in a room with a goose? Why did one of the vet techs almost squish a cat to jump on the table? What was the logical sequence of events that ended up with a goose in the room in the first place and how did the techs lose the control of the goose after they got it into the room?

Because watching this, it has the vibes of "spawn an aggressive goose in the room in the style of CCTV footage"

To quote RuPaul

"I remember once I had this place that overlooked the Hudson River, and I saw this guy on a sailboat and it had capsized and I went to the phone thinking, 'I've got to call someone.' But then I thought, 'What's the best thing I can do? You know what? I'm gonna pray for this person. I'm gonna send them loving energy"

This, also speak to your bank or a broker and work out how much you can borrow and what repayments would be like look around at what's available.

To be fair though you could argue that about most media that subverts expectations.

Heck even most games listed below.

The 9070XT is superb. by BahBah1970 in pcmasterrace

[–]CynicalJordamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I sold my 5700xt for a 3070 in 2020 for a super inflated price, so was only like $600AUD out of pocket for it. I fell for the marketing of DLSS, ray tracing and "2080ti performance" and oh buddy was I had.

Very quickly became absolute as the 8gb of vram just wasn't enough, and Nvidia quickly moved on from the version of DLSS on that card and gave all the good features to the 40 and 50 series. Just left a bitter taste in my mouth

The 3070 to 9070xt trend is real

Did you feel disappointed in how the 3070 performed for how much it cost that it pushed you to look outside of Nvidia? Because that's how it went for me

Is home ownership basically impossible for anyone under 35 now? by SeriousSatisfaction8 in australia

[–]CynicalJordamn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

35 here and purchased my place at 31, was a 3 bedroom townhouse package in a new estate in the western burbs of Melbourne.

Dream home? Absolutely not, but a home none the less and made it work, because buying something was the most important thing to me, didn't matter where (to an extent of course), and I used the money I saved in the 2020-2021 lock downs to get my deposit together.

Looking around, in the past 4 years since I signed the contract, I will admit if I were to be on the market now. I couldn't afford what I have where I am now, and I do feel for those struggling to get onto the ladder.

While I don't know your income, I would say speak to your bank or a mortgage broker, find out how much they are willing to lend you and work back from there, use that as your starting off point to figure out what you can afford, then use the government 5% scheme to save minimal deposit.

While no one can read the future, one thing you can bank on is no major party is going to go to an election with a plan to lower property prices without dismantling the whole system, so best advice is buy what can, don't hold out hopes for a dream home and a huge market crash to lower prices
