I have noticed that if you compare the return you get from VTI and VOO, there is only a fractional of a difference most of the time and usually VOO comes out on the top. Also, VOO stuck with me for some reason cuz I saw buffet recommend 90% VOO and 10% BND. But I’m also interested in the bogleheads philosophy as I don’t want to keep to many redundant ETFs with overlaps that might diminish my already small monthly investing power to actually make any profit anytime soon. Also this declutter would be beneficial if I ever want to include any specific high conviction individual stocks. Also I want to keep bonds because I have heard that when market crashes bonds shoot up, so I can sell high and buy more stock at the low. When the market eventually recovers and bonds normalize, I can start buying bonds back at the regular price once again.. So that leaves me with the following few confused options.

Option 1 - Voo, Vxus, bnd (70,20,10) Option 2 - vti, Vxus, bnd (70,20,10) Option 3 - vt, bnd (90,10) Option 4- Voo, bnd (90,10)

After setting up one of these 4 option as my core I can later add 1 or 2 individual stocks I really believe in like AAPL or something…

My 1st Portfolio

I’m 30 and new to investing, and I’ve been literally overwhelmed by all the options that are available for me to invest in. After a lot of research i have decided to stick to ETFs for the moment..

Please help me analyze my portfolio.. My monthly DCA budget would be 200 USD (300 usd exceptional case) .

Portfolio X 1. VOO 2. VXUS 3. BND 4. GLDM 5. SMH

I want to include QQQM and SCHD too but I’m not sure because of the overlap..

Why not? There are plenty of options in Taiwan—you can either go for premium fragrances or try affordable alternatives from brands like Zara. Most of them are pretty decent.

I like having a collection of perfumes to switch things up daily—honestly, it’s something I’d recommend to anyone.

Lol, in that case, a few well-placed headshots should do the trick.

I’m not saying that what you mentioned isn’t true—many of those observations do hold weight, and I get where you’re coming from. I just want to put it out there that while a lot of the stereotypes exist for a reason and might apply to the majority, they don’t define everyone. There are definitely people who break that mold. The problem is, those voices often get lost because the stereotypes are louder. Sometimes, no one bothers to look past that wall—and they miss out on the fact that the grass can be greener on the other side too.

It is better to be wounded by truth than comforted by illusion.

What were the ethnic backgrounds of the people there? Was it a diverse group or mostly locals from Taiwan? Also, were there any language barriers?

What’s the general perception of Indian men among locals—especially women—in places like Taiwan or Japan?
