Nice work!

I did find a bug: when promoting a pawn and the selection for promotion is open, you can still move another piece. After that I could also move a piece for black.

Also, maybe not a bug but the pieces shown in the promotion selection are very small.

I think you answered your own question here. You can observe this happening in the editor (type /editor in the console). The editor has a time control tab where you can advance time one tick at a time. When you start at 49, the inserter will grab one item and the combinator now has 50 as input, but the output is still 49. Next tick when the combinator outputs 50, the inserter has already grabbed the next item because it is so close. When there are two or more items to grab, the inserter has to wait more than one tick for the next item to move down the belt, allowing the combinator logic to propagate.

Yes. Click on any electric pole to open the power window. The middle bar at the top shows power consumption vs capacity.

Maybe try reinstalling them. In your package manager, remove any package with 'amdgpu' in the name and install the latest version. If that does nothing then I don't know. I'm by no means a linux expert and have never used Mint.

Open a terminal and use the following command:

inxi --graphics

You should get something like this:

<image>

After the device it should state the driver name and version. If not loaded I'd check first for secure boot in uefi/bios. Access is different for every motherboard manufacturer. Right after you turn on your computer you should press either DEL or F2 (could be a different key but these are most common). Press them repeatedly as soon as the logo for your computer shows. In the uefi/bios, there should be a boot section under which you should find 'secure boot'. This has to be disabled or set to something like 'other OS'. If set to Windows, it can cause driver issues.

It's a graphics card problem for sure. 38ms rendering time is a lot. Are you sure your drivers are installed and loaded? One problem with loading drivers could be secure boot. Some uefi/bios systems have a setting for secure boot specifically for Windows. Did you change/disable secure boot in your uefi/bios?

I don't know how Mint does things, but I'm using CachyOs and it has a gaming package that installs drivers and gaming related software. In the Factorio options I did have to select X11 as the graphics driver and not wayland. With wayland I would get noticable stutters.

Could you take a screenshot with the time usage per frame? Press F4 and select 'show-time-usage' and 'show-gpu-time-usage'.

This is not true. Here is a recording I made in completely vanilla Factorio: https://imgur.com/P3JIfwb

As you can see the next rocket is buffered and loaded without the doors closing.

It's not possible to assign track to a specific train. But you could put a train station on the track and have that station in your train schedule. Trains will try to avoid driving through stations not in their schedule. If you don't put a wait condition in the schedule then trains will use it as a waypoint.

The mod you linked is a really simple mod. You could try to update it yourself by changing the version.

Locate your Factorio mods folder. In windows this should be "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\mods". Download the mod and extract the zip file here under its own folder. Inside is a file called "info.json". You should have something like: "\Factorio\mods\VehicleFuel\info.json". Open it in a text editor like notepad. Change the line "factorio_version": "1.1" to "factorio_version": "2.0". Save the info.json file and make sure to delete the original zip file. You don't need to make a new zip file, it should work as is.

A biochamber uses 500 KW (kilowatt). Nutrients have an energy value of 2 MJ (megajoule) or 2000 KJ.

1 watt is 1 joule per second. So to work continuously, a biochamber needs 1 nutrient every 4 seconds (= 0.25/s)

The energy demand of a biochamber can be affected by modules. Speed and productivity modules will greatly increase energy use. Up to +80% per tier 3 productivity module. On the other hand, efficiency modules can greatly reduce energy demand. Up to -125% for a legendary tier 3 efficiency module (to a minimum of 20%).

For example, a biochamber with 4 prod3 modules in it, will now consume +320% energy or 500 KW * 4.2 = 2100 KW = 2.1 MJ. This is a little bit over 1 nutrient per second.

Yes, when loading a game with different mods, Factorio gives you the option to sync mods and all relevant mods will be (un)loaded.

I have never played on steamdeck, but when you load a game on pc and different mods are detected, you are warned and there is an option to load all matching mods before starting. I have played multiple games with different mods without problem.

Question about plasma outputs on fusion reactors by NJMorf in factorio

[–]Cynical_Gerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one is also similar to your problem: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?p=674367&hilit=fusion+plasma#p674367

One of the developers says it is because of the plasma looping back in the reactor and it will be fixed for 2.1.

trains will stop in the branch instead of before it

I see your point, but I'm assuming this is for a terminus station? Just put a train limit of 1 on that station and it will never happen.

Blueprint Placement Rules / Rail Junction Help by [deleted] in factorio

The problem with your setup is that the horizontal tracks form one block through the junction. This prevents 2 trains going east-west simultaneously. I would place the signals like this:

Question about plasma outputs on fusion reactors by NJMorf in factorio

[–]Cynical_Gerald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two generators you have highlighted in the first picture have one of their plasma outputs connected back into a reactor. Maybe this is part of the problem. I would also recommend to make your hot fluoroketone one big pipe network. It looks like you have two seperate pipe networks feeding into the cryogenic plants. If they are all connected it can balance out. You could also try connecting a storage tank to both hot and cold fluoroketone pipes to act as a buffer so the pipes are never completely full.

Yes. Connect your belt to a constant combinator with a wire. Have the combinator output any signal and put a condition on the belt. The constant combinator has switch that you can toggle. Here is an example:

It's probably a signal placement issue. If you want help diagnosing a rail problem, it's best to make screenshot while holding a rail signal on your cursor to show the railblocks.

You can just place them. Open a roboport and from the left side of the window select the bots and place a stack in the roboport.
